It was in the center of funchal. For the price it's really okay! Would not book it for a romantic time or if you're planning on being in your room a lot, but for just sleeping it was fine!

The room was smaller than expected and there was no closet to hang clothes. The corridor was a little noisy at night. In general, it was reasonable value for the money.

On our secon day the kitchen was out of electricity. We bought alot food to cook but unfortinetly wasnt able too.

Just seemed very unprofessional with the owner sleeping on the sofa at reception every night just made us feel uncomfortable. Also online parking is advertised but there is none close by and spend a good 20mins every evening finding somewhere to park which cost a lot and made us very unhappy and effected out stay.

Fresh bedding and towels but floors were dirty and cleaning was not done great. Also didn’t knock and wait to check the room was empty.

Unfortunately I am highly allergic to mold. There was mold in the bathroom and all over the shower head. It was very humid inside of the room and without fans. The photo was misleading also. We expected one full size bed and 2 twins. Instead we had one bunk bed and one twin bed. No wifi connection on the 3rd floor. We were only able to stay 1 night out of the 5 we had booked due to mold. And there are no refunds :(

The man at the front desk was very pleasant. The location of the hotel was amazing, literally in the center of the city. You can store groceries and cook your own meals. Very convenient. A great price too with a cute roof top for a little start gazing.

We spend there just one night as our flight was very late, we could accomodate after normal check-in hours, price was good , motel is not the newest one, but as this was just for one night sleep everything was enough.

We stayed at Sirius, oposite to Monaco. They changed our booking the last minute, but we didn't need to pay anything extra for this. It was okay for us, but I can tell about Hotel Sirius not Monaco. The hotel is a very average one, seems old and has some strange smell on the corridors, maybe from the bar below (they are trying to hide it with incense burner, which covers it just partially). The room and bathroom was clean, however we found a few big cockroaches dead or half dead. I suppose they did extermination before we arrived. I wouldn't choose it again, but for a cheap one night stay it was acceptable.

Hotel Sirius - They changed our booking the last minute, so I can only talk about Hotel Sirius not Monaco. We chose this hotel because of the price as we stayed just one night. We didn't expect much, just needed a place to sleep. Room and bathroom was clean for the first impression, bed was comfortable. Don't expect much, but for the money they ask for the stay it is okay.

very nice flat with all the shops around and best supermarkets in the heart of funchal,beautiful varanda just amazing from 5 floor ,was clean too the only sad thing was no internet connection , sad to say the owner didn’t even bother to fix , hopefully will be dealt with before other people stay there?????

This place needs some refreshment, especially the bathrooms and it's quite noisy (from the street) but it usually stops at midnight.

This is a very 'old school' place but the price is reasonable. If you are planning to explore the island and only sleep there then I totally recommend. Great location and very friendly staff.

There was a few hiccups along the way like: - mix up with our booking ( it might be misunderstanding but I did ask three times to make sure that we are on the same page and I got the confirmation that we are. Unfortunately on the day we landed and managed to get to the accommodation in the middle of the night it turns out that we do not have a place to stay.) Thank God Antonio was on his shift and he managed to sort it out. -no lights in the room for two days. Once we managed to check in next day we left the bags in our room and start to exploring the island we got back to our accommodations around 9 p.m. to get changed this is where we realise we do not have a light in our room, the only one light working was in the toilet. We were extremely hungry so we get changed and went out for dinner and next morning I report it to Antonio. -no clean towers for two days. We were under the impression that there will be a cleaner who will top up toilet paper and change the towels unfortunately for two days we did not experience either until we run out of toilet paper and we have to report it and once again Antonio help us. -we had two beds in our room one double and one single our double bed was absolutely fine but single one unfortunately was extremely squeaky and used, if you sit on it you would fall into bed and every single time when you turn the whole room can hear it. We would highly recommend to replace it.

With all honesty the best thing that we liked about our stay is our host Antonio we could not ask for a better host from day one when there was a mix-up with the booking he took care of us and it carry on through the whole stay. Every issue that we report it to Antonio he resolve it with the time fashion, he always updated us where are we with it. We had extremely busy schedule we were leaving the room at 6 am when it's still dark and coming back around 8/9 p.m. and every night when we saw him we he will ask us how we are, what did we do, do we like the island etc. He introduced us to a local cuisine and help us to navigate around The Island. We had decent sized room with one double and one single bed and private bathroom. Downstairs there is a common area where you can help yourself and use cups cutlery etc as long as you will clean after yourself. On the rooftops you can find a washing machines and place that you can do laundry as well as nice area to just sit down, chill and relax and enjoy the view. Overall our stay was pleasant regardless the few hiccups and it's all down to Antonio.
