How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The location was quite rundown, but this did not detract from our experience.
We had driven 7 hours to reach the hotel and were greeted by a very helpful and friendly person. Everyone we came in contact with couldn’t have been more helpful.

at first we thought the location appeared to be very rough. however we found that the local people, bars and restaurants to be very welcoming. we would certainly visit this area again.
although the main building is under going a full renovation there’s a separate annexe where our room was located. it was obvious that this area had been completely refurbished recently

Very near to the subway so it's easy to reach the center of the city. The room are small but nice and tidy, the staff was nice and professional.

Unfortunately the street outside is noisy.
We had breakfasts in the city so can't comment on the one offered in the hotel. The bed was comfortable, the size of the room was OK, we had to ask for shower gel as there wasn't any in the room.

There was a strong paint/damp smell in the room; I had to keep the window open at all times; Faint moldy smell in the bathroom. The running water stopped for a while during my stay there; Rotten bathroom furniture; Poor lighting; The building is old, decrepit and in dire need of renovation.

A hidden cost of 4€ when I signed in A lot of stairs not really suitable for limited mobility Never had breakfast don't think it was part of the deal and noone said anything. there wasn't a kettle in room There was no bath plug The toilet seat didn't fit fully on toilet so I had a suprise when I say down The entry to car park was incredibly tight for a small car it took a few attempts and I had to pull in one mirror. A wider car would not get in. A bit cold in room during night

The room and whole building was smelling sometimes pretty bad.
Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was ok. Location was also OK, there was public transportation going pretty close. We also walked few times to the city and it was about 45min walk.

Mold in the bathroom in ceiling and on the shower silicone. Toilet seat not fixed properly. General lack of attention and love in the room, a shame as I would have rated better otherwise

The room was modest so as the breakfast. Regarding that we only went to the hotel to sleep and eat breakfast it was more than enough. The price is ok for what it has to offer. The staff was polite and kind.

Even on a Sunday night, the seemingly quiet street is a thoroughfare - especially for loud motorbikes at 3am - so the street-facing room is a challenge, with no aircon meaning windows open to get air
The staff were friendly and accomodating - they were able to move us away from the street-facing room after the first night (no air-conditioning so windows open, but the traffic noise....). The suburban location was good - walking distance to a Metro station, so no need to drive into Porto city centre

It was a bit far away from the center and sites, but there's a bus stop right in front which is convenient. We had a car, and there was free parking in the back which was good. The place was clean but had limited lighting. The street noise was pretty loud and we had to keep windows open at night due to the heat. The staff were nice, and they had a decent continental breakfast included. All in all, very basic, but a good value for what we paid.

The bathroom could have some metal hangers coming from the wall so that we could hang the towels. The fan barely works properly -> this could be something that they can invest in for summer.
The room that I stayed in we could see that it was renovated. Good bathroom, very spacious! Basic but good breakfast; Parking upon reservation; The staff is friendly and always very attentive; This hotel is only 10 minutos by walking from a metro line!

Cleaning definitely not strong point of accommodation. We had dirty bathroom after our arrival.
Kind personal even that communication in english was little bit struggle. But google always works ;) and both guys were very kind and trying their best. Also nice small breakfast included.

no Wifi in our room, our was in the back of the Hotel. Its in a quiet neighbourhood so thats nice but a good 30-40 min walk from most of the action.
