Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AzerbaijanThe hotel situated in the very center, 3-4 walk distance from the bus station, what is highly appreciated. No electronic key, they give you huge key, so you have to return it to the reception every time you going out-)

United StatesThe location is perfect for those who wish to explore the historic center of Leiria. As it is close to the bus station, one can also use Hotel Leiria Classic as a home base for day trips by bus to Fátima, Batalha, Alcobaça, and other historic sites. The Leiria Castle is within easy walking distance as well, and you may ascend to the ticket office by a free elevator or funicular ride. The staff are clearly experts in the field of hospitality! A cozy sala de estar on the second floor offers a comfortable place to relax with a book at the end of the day!

SwitzerlandBreakfast was a bit strange - I would have preferred to have a little choice in the bread, and the flavor of yogurt, etc. rather than a tray of food placed in front of me, including some items I never eat for breakfast. However, I wonder if this was due to not many people being in the hotel so it wasn't worth setting out a whole buffet - just a guess though!
Quiet room, comfortable bed, good shower.

PortugalMinor things but the keys having a large wooden block attached to them for seemingly no reason and also entering the hotel by ringing the bell, perhaps those could be changed for something less cumbersome.
Very central, affordable, great breakfast, AC worked well enough and parking isn't too bad outside (or even the private underground one). I realized late into my stay that they offer a deal with a private parking lot nearby, so I couldn't take advantage but definitely would recommend using it if still available.

CanadaHotel was not easy to identify while driving down the street. Name was very high up and not visible at the street level. Elevator was very slow to respond.
Location was amazing! Parking was close by though we had not been informed in advance where to park, which would have been helpful.

ItalyThe hotel is very central, and the area silent despite having 3 restaurants ( packed during our stay) just outside, breakfast was plenty and the lady at the counter was very accomodating. The breakfast consisted of coffee/tea/capuccino, yogurt, slice of cake/small pastries, bread and cold cuts. It's not a buffet-kind of breakfast apart from the cakes and pastries but I asked for a second coffee and it was ok so I think it would be fine to ask for a second help of something! The double room was very clean, at first it was a bit complicated to have the water flow from the shower head above but it was fine after some practice! It's not easy to find parking around, so if you come with a car ask at the reception for the deal with the parking lot nearby ( 5€/night). There is no elevator for the clients of the hotel, so keep it in mind if you travel with heavy luggages.

NetherlandsThe layout of the bathroom was illogical. Instead of having the toilet parallel to the shower cube it faced the shower cube making sitting down akward for tall people. The room was lower than the door entrance making falling down a hazard.
The staff were excellent as was the breakfast. I got a free upgrade of my room. The location is perfect between the old center and the castle. The parking garage is nearby and the hotel provides a discount.

MacaoNone.
The location is perfect, in the heart of the city. All attractions are in walking distance. Also close to Rede Expressos bus station (<10 mins walk). The staff are very nice and helpful. There is an elevator in the property, which is a big advantage to me as I had a big suitcase with me. There is an air-con in the room. Room is spacious. Breakfast was included. Compared to other accommodations at similar price I had stayed during this trip, this is superb.

South AfricaAlthough good value for money, the simplicity of the premises and the room were noticeable. Staff was extremely friendly, and breakfast was also good. Overall cleanness in the hotel is very good. Location is a plus as it is in a great place. Overall score 7.5/10. due to parking as after 10:00 a.m. parking gets charged per hour.

CanadaFor what seemed like an older property the rooms and bathrooms seemed to have been updated and were clean and modern. The parking was an easy walk and very close to the property. It was underground the square. The breakfast was very good but on the third and fourth day became repetitive.air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked well. Nice location, easy to walk to the castle.
