Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you struggle climbing stairs, this isn't for you, there isn't a lift in this traditional building. Double glazing not the most effective for sound insulation.
A good location, near to metro and tram. Very traditional building. Friendly staff.

HungaryIt's really noisy, hard to sleep. The bed is small. But for a couple of days, it's totally okay. No air condition, I wouldn't go there in the summer.
It's in the city centre, the metro station is right in front of the hostel. For this amount of money, it's correct. It's clean, and the staff is easy to contact when you want to check in.

GermanyNoise isolation is not good. Room was directly next to stairs and I could hear lots of noise from door and also from outside through window even late at night.
Location is perfect, directly on top of metro station. Room is small and a bit compact but it has everything and meets expectations and it was clean.

CanadaThree flights up to the reception up winding stairs. The toilet in my room is only to pee, without t.p. But in all, you get used to the place and I was quite content. Double check the code at the reception as the woman at the desk may be dyslexic. But I buzzed and was let in the front door.
The price was right, as Lisbon is steep in more ways than one! Away from city centre but the Mwtro green Libre is only steps away. Get a room away from the street if possible. Clean decently appointed room.

PortugalFirst night I struggled with the noise from the Main Street , it was actually all night . But then I checked previous reviews and it was the same . Very old fashion and I believe it’s for that reason that has a bit of strong smell . It was clean but the covers had a strong odor . They have a bidet inside of the room instead of a toilet . Go figure why .
It’s in a very strategic point of Lisbon and it has Metro just right in front of the entrance door

SloveniaThe hotel is in an old building, on second and third floor. Yes it has only stairs, yes it is loud and noisy from the street, but we already knew that from previous reviews, so that was not a problem for us.
The location is top. In the old town, right next to the metro. The hotel has 24h reception, which is very convinient if you have an early flight. The lady at the front desk is very nice and pleasant. Even though she doesn't speak english, you can still communicate. Every day they cleaned the room and changed our towels.

MoldovaIt was really hot in the room though we stayed in October. There is no AC, but there is a fan which was working well, but was not very efficient. The street is very busy so keeping the window open was not really an option.
The room is in a historical Lisboan building. We had a room with a private bathroom at the 6th level. It is quite well located (we looked for something in this area). Careful- the stairs are very steep and high so with a lot of luggage it can be challenging to get to the 5th - 6th level. The view is quite nice.

SerbiaIt was very noisy during the night, so often I was woke up because of traffic and some voices that I could hear. The building does not have an elevator.
Overall I am satisfied with the accommodation. The room was clean and suitable for me and staff were very reliable, honest and helpful. The best thing that the room was in a perfect location. Metro station is literally in front of the building.
