Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomRoom had damp and disturbance from neighbour's. I don't know how they got my room's key and at 1pm they opened my room's door. When they saw me inside then they said sorry and left. Next morning at 6am they knocked at my window and asked me to open the main entrance door for them, which i did not.

ItalyThe hotel has got potential, but needs a heavy and deep restyling. Walls are dirty, room smells of smoke, towels are frayed and have orange spots. The carpet shows the plastic structure and on the floor outside the room it is completely ruined and bleached. The shower curtain got moldy at the bottom.
Best things: private free parking, location close to the center, very kind and welcoming girl, low price.

NetherlandsThe bell rings sometimes at night, so bring your earplugs. Also, it's not super convenient to go to the centre, but we used the electric steps a lot, those bring you anywhere quickly and cheaply.
It's a budget hotel, so it's cheap and good value for your money.

IrelandBut if you open the window you can hear a lot of noise from outside from cars, and if you close it there’s no air circulation, no fan no air conditioning. Internet it’s terrible ( I had to work one day and internet was not good, slow and and I had to get a chair and stay closer to the door to get the signal. Also on my phone never got to use the WI-FI. Gentlemen from the night said that it’s on the booking that it’s cash only (could not find). So I had to go to a bank 15 min from the hotel at 1:30 am to get cash from atm. It’s ok distance from center, but you do need to walk quite bit and the way back is a hill.

FranceThe room was a bit basic...there were no shades on the bed-side lights, just bare bulbs, a shame, as this wouldn't take much effort or money to fix, and would give the room a nicer ambiance.
Lovely staff. Even after I'd vacated my room, they let me leave my case with them for a few hours so I could visit Porto. And before I headed off they let me charge my phone. Very kind and helpful.

GermanyThe room was not dusted and had lot of hairs all around the room. The worst part was that all the towels also had some hair on them. We asked to change the towels twice (which the staff agreed easily to), but even all the new ones had hair in them. We got a room in the basement, with one tiny window. The room itself was renovated. The entire hotel area esp the basement floor was very poorly lit, seemed almost scary. I woild not recommend, unfortunately.
Location not very far from Central area. The staff was kind and helpful, although not everyone spoke English.
