How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The bed was a little uncomfortable and there was a gap between the two joined beds. There is no AC, which is common in the area but contributed to humidity in the room.
Very friendly staff, who are quite busy but happy to answer questions when available. The suite was clean with fast Wifi for working. There was everything you need, and the appliances were very nice (attention to all the details - to go containers, plates/bowls, induction stove, etc).

There was no washing machine
The passal is clean and quiet for sleeping, the staff are great serving you from the first day of your arrival

Paulo was incredibly helpful right from the start, giving me recommendations, offering help booking tours and even packing me off with a ready-made breakfast when I left really early in the morning. The apartment was exactly as advertised and was a great base for exploring Ponta Delgada and Sao Miguel.

A very safe, clean and beautiful property. Good size lockers. Transfer from and to airport But above all the stuff is great and the owner Paulo was extremely helpful with everything, from helping renting a car, provide trip suggestions and reserve restaurants for us

Coming from another hostel with more facilities, I was unable to wash my clothes, have access to kitchen to cook my own food. The towels are an extra charge of €2.50 euro. The bathrooms are shared will individual cubicles. I didn't feel there was much privacy. Finally, I am quite healthy, would love have had some fruit or something fresh at breakfast but most may be happy with breads, cereal and coffee.
Beautifully designed hostel, the asthetics give me an expensive hotel vibe. The staff (Paulo and Louisa) so friendly and made me laugh. Very accomodating. My bed was super comfy. The hostel is extremely high standard very clean.

The staff and Paulo were so helpful! Even got us a scooter when all places were fully booked! Great breakfast and super comfy bed too. Can recommend!

Paulo and the rest of the team were incredibly nice and gave us lots of tips on where to find the best food, what to visit, etc. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walking from the main square. We hope to come back soon and we highly recommend this place.

The wifi signal in our room was very weak, and not great in the common areas.
The staff was very helpful. They arranged a cab to the airport for us, and prepared a bagged breakfast as we left early in the morning.

apart from the odd weirdo u come across in a hostel thats it.
Paulo and the staff are great very helpful and friendly.Dorms only had 6 beds so plenty of space and good lockers plus large window for ventilation.Gave up staying at hostels years ago but would stay here again.Oh i forgot the breakfast was great when u think of the price for ur night.

Brand new and spacey apartment (suite), elegantly and tastefully furnished, clean and sufficient kitchen equipment. Great location. We had a late and delayed flight and host Paulo was happy to come pick us up at the airport. He was very helpful, friendly and efficient. It was our first time on Azores and he made us feel welcome and helped us arrange an itinerary.

Can’t say a thing!
1) I loved how spacious it was. I had lots of room to unpack and there is a quiet lounge area on the top floor (with terrace!) that gives you space to not disturb others if your plane arrives in late. Extra space was also present in the bathroom which was THE CLEANEST of any hostel I have stayed in. Brand new sinks and plenty of space to put your hygienic products! The showers were awesome. 2) Curtains on the bunk beds…an essential for hostels that some do not have! your own nook makes all the difference 3) Start your adventure days off with a strong breakfast they provide. A delicious way to fuel for the day that again, some hostels do not provide! 4) Finally, the staff. Clear, immediate communication and planning from Paulo was present and made me feel secure in getting to/from the airport and I saw him helping others with their plans.

The place is an absolute delight! I really recommend it. The location is perfect. The athmosphere is very social yet relaxed. The comfort is like a hotel. The place is ultra clean. However, the owner is the best of all. He knows and hosts everyone personally while he manages several accomodations, he will personally pick you up from the airport too. When I left early to catch my flight, there was a little lunchbag with my name on it in the reception with my breakfast in it, so cute!

This hostel is one of my all-time favorites! Paulo messaged the day before I got there to see if he could provide transport over from the airport, and that level of feeling like somebody was watching out to make sure I had a fun and easy time getting around Ponta Delgada continued throughout my stay! The location is very close to downtown Ponta Delgada and safe for walking. Paulo and Luisa are constantly helping guests find their ways to the things that they'd like to do. The facilities are quite nice -- the privacy curtains and lights make a dorm situation much easier than it can be! They've paid lots of attention to details like the showerheads. And the breakfast is good too! Not that they control who's staying when, but even the other guests were great -- I found this to be a super-friendly, nice environment, well-adapted for solo travelers.
