The road going up to the Quinta was a challenge.

The location has incredibly beautiful views. The layout of the rooms looking onto the gardens radiated a peaceful atmosphere.

I would come back here and stay for as many nights as my itinerary allows any time. We only stayed one night, tragically, but since we arrive by 3pm we were able to actually swim in and sit by the pool (mid-April) for a few hours, all with the most spectacular view of the river, valley and vineyards. Enjoyed socializing poolside with other guests. The room was very comfortable with easy access outside to the impeccable grounds. Bathroom was great. Breakfast was great. The views from every angle were great. The weather was great. The driveway was great and the parking was, too. The gourmet dinner was terrific and my wife said that their wine was the best that she's ever had anywhere in the world.

Breakfast was only at 8:00am, so we had a bag Breakfast that was not very good ( stale bread sandwich and pear)

The facility (outdoor pool wasn't heated, but we enjoyed it) The welcoming Port wine was an unexpected touch, and the setting (environment) is magnificent. Staff was helpful, friendly, and kind.

Please add a sign to inform drivers not to stop on the driveway as it turns the light off at the bottom. We had a terrible time to back up when we met a car half way up. We had to back down which was frightening!

Driveway is a bit of a challenge through the terraces. This didn’t bother us as we are used to steep Caribbean driveways, but someone unfamiliar with steep and narrow may be intimidated.

Idyllic Quinta, very nice breakfast, wonderful dinners, truly gourmet. Close to Pinhão and many wineries.

Rooms are a bit small. There's some confusion if the faucet water is OK to drink. Two employees told us not, so we bought water at the hotel.

The place was amazing! Beautiful location, great evening meals, great wine! The multicourse dinners were amazing! Great views of the Douro River and vineyards all around. Easy drive to other tasting places and close to town.

Noise from the A/C system (even when off) due to the proximity of the facility from the room (room 3). Proposal for dinner too expensive (but optional).

Exceptional location and view. Best possible in the Douro valley. Very friendly staff and very confortable beds. Porto offered in room!

Some travellers may find the steep driveway a challenge but for us it was part of the appeal of Quinta do Pego. Although I wouldn’t advise first time travellers to arrive after dark (like we did).

Professional and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The buildings and views exceed the already impressive photographs. Spacious and comfortable.

Two minor things, which didn’t detract from the excellent stay: The narrow, long, winding and steep drive from the road isn’t for the faint-hearted (very difficult if you meet someone leaving when you’re driving in). Also on our (lower) floor there seemed to have been some leak or flood in the corridor which could have done with being tidied up better until it was fixed

Breakfast was great, the views from our rooms were spectacular as well as from the terrace where we had our cocktails and dinners. The drive up to the hotel itself was challenging since it was narrow but overall the stay was a 10!
