Pool was open from 8 a.m. I like to swimm earlier especially as it is a shallow pool without lifeguard. But it was I guess related to curfew. Breakfast could be sreved earlier than from 8 a.m. too. But it was great anyway!

Very comfortable beds. Beautiful location on top of mountain. Quiet and calm place. Close to golf course and you can use it for small fee. Beautiful place and lovely people.

This hotel is Amazing! Not only because of the vintage building but because of the people who work there. The staff is really nice and friendly. The swimming pool and sauna are great after a day hiking. The restaurant has a talented cook and you can taste one of the best scabbard fish filet with banana of the whole Madeira.

One night we have had ants invasion in our restroom. They came up through water pipes in bathtub. Personel resolved the issue while we were out. It did not happen second time during our stay at least. Snooker table has extra 10€ charge per every hour which is quite odd.

Pool has been heated and thus warm.

Only very minor things: bedroom had very little natural light (a big window and small balcony but the high vegetation is very close). There was not always space in their restaurant to book dinner even if you didn't mind when to eat. Although the village centre is close (600m?) there is no pavement and so it did not feel a safe walk & we drove.

Clean, quiet and comfortable with very helpful and available staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Good indoor pool, sauna and small gym. Bedrooms well set out and with tea/coffee and small fridge. Overall a lovely place to stay

The humidity was very high and no air conditioning system is installed. The bathroom is a little bit small. The TV channels can be very hardly find. If you pull out the card from the store it ceases the electricity in the plugs as well, so you are unable to charge any equipment if you do not stay in the hotel. The sauna is too small and old and it is valid for the jacuzzi as well.

The view from the room to the sea is fantastic! The stuff is very polite and they are seeking for your well being. Thank you very much! The blue sparkling wine was amazing which was served to the balkony when we arrived and the welcome drink was really nice. The concierge women were very nice and they helped a lot!

Entartainment: sauna, pool, gym, billard, chess, all free for guests 6. Professional hair dryer with big power in the room (important for Ladies with long hair :)) 7. The location was more remote than we had envisioned. While close to the airport ( a plus) it was farther from Funchal and the attractions of the south side of the island.

The attention and positive attitude of the staff. They were extremely helpful and accommodating in room service and in helping us plan day trips. The property's remoteness allowed for a chance to catch up on rest and sleep.

Beautiful property, comfortable and with all the amenities one may need. Far from the noise and chaos of the coast, an excellent location to visit the Eastern part of the island.

Someone came out to receive us & help with our bags at 1 am when we arrived (I did confirm this before booking). He knew who we were & brought us directly to our room. I really appreciated that after a very late flight. The room was beautiful & very comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent, too.
