I recently stayed at SerraVale for three nights and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel was impeccably clean, the hospitality was exceptional, and the breakfast was amazing. Located in the heart of Manteigas, it offered convenience and easy access to everything. The owner, Elsa, one of the best hostesses in Portugal, made my stay truly memorable and welcoming. We loved this beautiful home. The room and property as a whole were very clean and inviting. Sitting in front of the fireplace is one of my favourite things in the world, so this was icing on the cake for me.

The hotel is in a house that is 150 years old so there are no elevators and it could be difficult for older guests to carry their luggage upstairs.

The exceptional attention to detail and care from the owner, Elsa. Her passion for people and for what she does is so evident and she goes above and beyond to make her guests have a memorable experience. She also made the best breakfast of our entire trip :)

Our 3-day stay in Manteigas was greatly enhanced by staying at SerraVale. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was ample and delicious. As others have emphasized, Elsa, the host, went out of her way to make us feel welcome. In addition to excellent restaurant recommendations, she gave us great advice on hiking. When we made a wrong turn on one of our hikes and ended up far from our car, we contacted her by WhatsApp and she immediately arranged for a taxi to pick us up and return us to our car. We strongly recommend SerraVale.

I really enjoyed my stay at SerraVale. Elsa (the owner) made me feel very welcome, as if I was an old friend returning to her home. She advised her guests on the best walks and places to go in the area' The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class, which was all local produce. This is truly a beautiful place in a lovely little village. I hope to return again sometime.

We were welcomed by Elsa at arrival. She gave us useful tips for restaurants, and what we can see / do around. We appreciated the possibility of having tea through the whole day :). The breakfast was great with some local products like cheese that was very tasteful. It was nice to have a terrace with a nice view over the town.

Elsa welcomed us as old friends or family members. She recommended very good locations for dinner and where to hike during our stay. Beautiful terrace with views of the mountains all around. Parking space is available. Small supermarket nearby.

The most overwhelming thing is the hospitality of the host. Organised transport for me from Sao Romao and onwards to Monsanto. Ensured that I went on a great walk, and kept me informed about what was happening in town.
