Everything was superb! I had the most wonderful time at Solar Alvura. It was perfect in every way; from the welcoming Tiago provided, my beautiful room with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, the healthy and delicious food, the spa treatments ( thank you Pedro), the gardens, sitting by the beautiful fire in the evenings laughing and chatting. The pool area and terrace overlooking the orange grove are a delight too. Davio the donkey is a beautiful and friendly boy. I had so much fun and met the most wonderful people, those who worked at the hotel and guests. A wonderful, special haven with a very special Team headed up by Dr Eva. Thank you all 🙏 Dr Eva, Tiago, Claudia, Vesna, our chef and gardener behind the scenes.

I was very surprised not to find a small fridge in the room , this was a first for me .

The breakfast was amazing, customer service was excellent, and the facilities and grounds were also fantastic ( especially the donkey 😊 )

Where to begin - charming hotel with bags of character and incredible people. A true family business, Evan was such an amazing person. Emma was wonderful and Nothing was too much trouble for the team. We met Eva on the day we left and she was so kind and thoughtful also. Breakfast was always delicious and nutritious. We loved the late evening swims and they even made us a mini breakfast when we had to leave early for our flight. Highly recommend staying here. Can’t wait to go back for a yoga retreat!

The staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exquisite and plentiful. The spa was run very well indeed and provided advice as well. Drinks, which I had on a package, were generously poured. Pool was clean and well maintained. Grounds were beautiful. Staff took time to know guests personally. It's a small hotel but that's still indicative of their impressive attitude.

Narrow beds. No dustbin in room (only in WC). AC blowing on the bed. Too small breakfast choices, but tasty.

Beautiful hotel with a central location and a natural setting. We loved the facilities, the pool, the gym, the massages and even the inroom products are all top notch. The breakfasts are fantastic while enjoying the view of the back garden. Very cute donkey also 😊 We’ve stayed twice now and the room is always impectable, very comfortable bed. Can’t wait to return!

I wouldnt say l didnt like it but it did take a bit of getting used to no menus just 2 or three verbal selections and l would have preferred menus especially at lunch when you only wanted a light bite rather than 3 courses. No complaints about the food though it was always really delicious and superb much better than our previous hotel in the area

Lovely peaceful location breakfast over the orange grove. Super comfortable bed excellent bathroom and delicious food . We just went as “ usual “ tourists not on any health break and loved it the chef cooked us especially delicious not necessarily as healthy as other guests

Just one point, a little kettle in each room would be handy , nice to just kick back with a tea or coffee , reading and just relaxing! This was suggested to Dr Ava and in fairness she does take any suggestions onboard....

As Solar Alvura is a health hotel the food is carefully planned and prepared to be healthy and tasty with lots of low calorie and low carb offers, although your calorie intake is lower than the normal you seldom feel hungry as it's three meals a day plus two snacks so there's plenty! The staff and the location are fantastic, the staff could not do enough for you and the Portuguese sunshine is always welcome of course! The hotel is top class with fantastic decor which makes you feel really relaxed with a fantastic feeling of serenity. Also there are activities such as yoga. aqua aerobics, indoor gym and guided walks, always something to do , plenty of downtime too to just relax with a nice herbal tea and your book ! I honestly loved it and would return in a heartbeat! About 20 minutes from Faro airport where you are collected and dropped off, ideal location, sitting on the terrace looking at the orange groves does wonders for all your health requirements ! As another guest said, Solar Alvura has a beautiful karma about it, I really wish Dr Ava every success in her dream, she has a great team around her and I think the hotels future will go from strength to strength ! Good luck !!

Truly this hotel is a Zen place. All the staff are amazing. The foods are great. My room is very clean/pristine. They also offer daily activities for the guests making sure they have a great time during their stay. I can’t thank you enough, Guys. Love and Light to all of you. Cheers 💖
