How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing - it was perfect!
Souto Guest House is the perfect place to stay in Braga. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was spacious and clean with a super king bed and en-suite. Little touches like complimentary drinks and snacks available all day and the staff were extremely friendly and always available on WhatsApp. A little gem in the centre of Braga - everywhere is walking distance from cafes and bars to restaurants, shops and markets. Obrigado!

The linen and bath towels were exceptional quality and impeccably clean. It was very nice to have a fridge and coffee machine in the room.

Fantastic, comfortable guest house. Liliana was very helpful and kindly arranged to meet us early so we could drop off our bags. Very comfortable rooms. I stayed in the attic and it was so restful. The living room with coffee and cakes was a great space. So many nice touches.

A gem in Braga!!! Perfect location, close to everything. Lovely room. Common room with cakes, coffee, tea. Liliana was so sweet and helpful with great recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Can’t wait to go back.

Terrific location, friendly and helpful people. The room was clean and bright with a nice view. The common room is a nice place to have a cup of coffee and the cake is a nice touch.

The guest house was just perfect! Joe and Liliana were so so friendly and so so helpful. They were also available to help us with everything. The place is very clean and exceptionally appointed with everything you need and more. The location was just off the main historic street. A beautiful place!!

Absolutely no complaints. Please note this is an old house without elevator.
Super nice room in the center of the beautiful old town of Braga. Room was clean and quiet, with free coffee in the room, and tea/coffee/snacks in the common room. The hosts are super friendly, always responded quickly, allowed an earlier check in, and gave many inside tips on what to see and where to eat. Would definitely stay there again.

Bad sound isolation between rooms.

Spacious room, superclean & comfortable. Perfect location. Liliana & Jo are wonderful host. They are extremely helpful and friendly. They give great advice on what to see and places to eat. I highly recommend this place and we will happily return.

I have zero complaints, this is an exceptional value, Souto Guesthouse will always be my Braga recommendation to friends when they come to visit.
The location is outstanding, so convenient to the historic center of Braga. The availability of coffee, water and snacks in the dining room is a lovely touch and appreciated. Joe greeted me when i arrived, and was always available for any needs, and he was so kind. My room was spotless, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, I slept so well.

Since it was Saturday, there were voice actors outside the inn until late.
It was a room where you could feel the good taste of the owner. The owner gave us lots of information about the town and also left us with first aid. I was impressed by the attention to detail.

First of all al Braga is a beautiful city, and definitely worth a visit! The location is right in the heart of Braga and it is very clean and comfortable. I felt extremely welcome at Souto Guest House. Liliana was very available and gave a lot of useful recommendations about Braga. They put a lot of love into details (for example there are umbrellas in case of rain, very nice portuguese products in the bathroom, coffee and water in the room etc) Would absolutely recommend to everyone!

We were very warmly greeted by our host and were given a tour of the amenities which included a breakfast room with tea coffee and pastries for the guests consumption which was in addition to coffee facilities in the room. The double room was spacious, stylishly and very comfortably furnished with an excellent ensuite shower room stocked with shampoos and soap. Liliana was available by whatsapp at anytime and answered any questions we had and was very helpful in providing information on restaurants and tours. The guest house was very centrally located in the old town but despite this were were not disturbed by street noise.
