How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great hostel. Miguel, the owner is super nice. The hostel is cozy, got a home vibe to it, it’s clean and the beds are comfortable. Perfect location.

there are only mixed dorms and they are very packed, 3(!) levels of beds.

Curtains on the beds and something to store the small things next to you would be perfect but thats only minor issues
The check in is super modern and very nice and welcoming with a lot of helpful tips and information Rooms are nice modern and well decorated and the kitchen is fully equipped

I just don't understand why a curtain on the beds is not standard, especially in such modern and beautiful hostels like this one. Costs next to nothing and provides a lot of privacy and makes you sleep better because of the light. Also, there is no table or anything else in the room to sort luggage and no way to hang laundry, although there is a large garden.
Really coherently furnished accommodation. I think I have never seen such a nice hostel, especially the shared areas and the owner was very nice.

Could be loud from street noise, but did not take away from our experience.
Clean facilities with comfortable bed and bathroom. Could be loud at night, but did not take away from our experience. the kitchen and blackyard was a nice add on. Very close to a grocery store and metro, making an easy transfer from the train station to the room. Great value and we will stay again in the future.

The walls are a bit thin but it didn't pose a problem for us.
Omg this place was amazing. Beautiful decore, a little far but still walking distance from main area of Porto. So so clean, working heater, and comfy bed.

lovely room with extremely comfortable beds. Excellent bathroom with great shower, shower gel and hairdryer. Quiet location but in easy walking distance to main attractions. Supermarket at the end of the street if needed.

Shower room a little tight. Could be better if heater can be turned on earlier.

We had a fantastic stay and couldn't be happier. Everything about this place is spectacular; location, structure, cleanliness..even the towels and bedsheets smelled amazingly good. I'd never stayed in such an immaculate place before. Thank you Miguel and everyone involved. We'll certainly be back.

Everything was perfect.
The design is fantastic. The room and the hotel are really cozy and beautiful. The kitchen looks chic, there is everything you need. We really enjoyed our time there. All the details are beautiful.

Street parking is difficult to find in this location so just be aware if you're travelling with a car. Also the shower was strangely small given how spacious everything else was. Not a deal breaker but just seemed strange so much effort was put into everything but the shower
A very comfortable, warm and cozy place to stay during winter. Most places we've been to have been cold during winter but our room was nice and warm and stayed that way all night. The beds were super comfy and big. The bathroom was spacious with soap and body wash. Easy check in where you're sent the code via booking.com and you just use your code to open the door. Great location, Porto downtown is 10-15 mins walk and lots of good cafes/restaurants in the area.

Make sure you arrive before 11pm or you won’t be able to stay.
Kind staff, beautiful facilities and calm atmosphere. The owner is very helpful and cares about his guests and business.

Super comfy bed, nice shower! Miguel was super helpful! It was nice to be able to use our phone to unlock doors. We were not planning to use the kitchen but since the facilities were so good and the grocery store just around the corner, we decided to cook our last meal there! Great stay!

Bathroom and all other rooms are well-cleaned, everything is in good shape. Miguel, the owner, is extremely nice and has prepared PDF file with useful recommendations of tourists attractions, restaurants and other stuff.
