The owner and the staff service was extraordinary! Always so helpful and welcoming. Out of all hostels I have been to, this one definitely had one of the most amazing vibes. Also, morning part was my favourite - getting delicious breakfast and talk to the staff, perfect way to start the day. Thanks to the owner, I have had the best surfing lesson ever.

Wish the coffee machine was always on but I understand that it would cost a lot and require a lot of work.

Everything about my experience was amazing! The staff are very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Providing activity recommendations and great service throughout my stay. The hostel is a five minute walk from the nearest grocery store, a thirty-five minute walk from the airport, and a fifteen minute walk from the city center, making the location ideal. The rooms have lockers and the bathroom and kitchen are fully functional and clean. Lastly the breakfast includes basic but good!

The Holy Cow exceeded my highest expectations! My friend and I reserved a double room with private bath and the room was comfortable, clean, simple and tastefully decorated. The whole place was bright and friendly, conveniently located within a short walk from the historic center of Ponta Delgada. Maria was our host and was so welcoming and helpful, and her suggestions made our wonderful stay on Saõ Miguel even better. The breakfast that was included was always delicious, the enclosed yard was so nice, and the kitchen was spotless and well-stocked with cookware that made it easy to prepare other meals. I would definitely stay at the Holy Cow again if I get the chance to return to Ponta Delgada!

The staff was awesome, recommending us many fantastic places to visit and many exceptional restaurants to enjoy the great food of the island. Very close to the city center and to the airport, with free parking along the street. Really nice breakfast with fabulous local dairy products!

Loved the hospitality, cleanliness, and the total value! They really thought about guest needs- from the breakfast, loaner towels to go to the thermal pools to where the USB chargers were located (next to bed). My fellow traveller's weren't feeling well and the genuine kindness they showed was so appreciated!

6-bed room with only 4 lockers? But that actually never was an issue, since there never were more than 3 people occupying the room. There was a fan in the room, but sometimes it was not able to bring the temperature down. To be fair, it was never terribly hot in the room either. The street right in front of the house can be very noisy in the early morning; strong recommendation: close the inner window in the wee hours of the morning and the noise problem goes away, these windows do a very good soundproofing job.

The location is right at the edge of the city centre. The facility is clean, modern and with enough space. Kitchen well equipped. Keyless access by code. Good WiFi. Easygoing, friendly and helpful staff. The included breakfast is really good.

The only negative I would stay was that it wasn't the best for meeting other people (might have just been the week I was there). It was mainly couples and families. However, it was easy enough to meet other people that it was kind of nice to be able to have some downtime, especially after a lot of traveling prior.

The Holy Cow was an awesome hostel! The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were really clean and felt upscale! Gonçalo was honestly the best host providing some incredible recommendations in San Miguel and beyond! The breakfast was also perfect each morning before exploring. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing, other than we had to leave.

The room was very comfortable, spacious and quiet. The bathroom was great, very clean and well stocked. The breakfast was great and it was nice to meet other guests. The building was very secure and right in the middle of Ponta Delgada. Goncalo and his team were so helpful, their English was 100 times better than our Portuguese. There were plenty of tips of days out and local businesses to try. All in all a fantastic place, with modern, quirky décor that was incredibly clean.

The hostel is on a main street and our room was on the ground floor so sometimes it was quite noisy if big cars were passing by.

Fantastic host, very helpful and quick to reply even before our arrival. The kitchen and common space are very clean, spacious and equipped with all mod cons. The breakfast was abundant with many fresh products and very well served. Well organized check-in method even when the reception is closed. The room with a big en-suite bathroom was clean and comfortable.

The room is a bit humid and hot, no air conditioning

The owner of the hostel said - if you need something, ask. They will provide or help you find everything you may need: from a grocery store and bus schedule to renting a car on good terms. Good breakfast. There were only 3 of us in a room for 6 people. There is a laundry service for 10 euros. The hostel is located near the airport and close to the center, port, bus stops.

The hostel is on a busy street so you can hear a lot of noise from the outside when in your room from the vehicles driving by (nothing that would prevent you from sleeping though). Parking on the street may be a bit tricky for this same reason.

Nice firendly environment, great location near the centre of Ponta Delgada and good breakfast. Gonçalo and Ana were very accomodating especially with our little girl who had all her needs taken care of.
