Charge for tea/coffee facilities in the room. In 5* hotel its has to be free. And mini bar should be just there for you - not on request only.

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooftop bar and swimming pool in the city. Walking distance to main funchal atractions. Lots of restaurants just around the corner.

The only thing wrong with our room was that the charging leads on one side of the bed were broken

The doors from the balcony do not isolate well the noise from the street, but we weren’t too bothered by it.

Location was great, the bed really comfortable, good breakfast and friendly staff. The pool and the terrace bar really a nice addition.

The bed was uncomfortable due to the weirdest decisions I've ever come across in a hotel. The duvet sheets were open on all sides, basically a duvet sandwitched between two white sheets, no buttons or zips on any sides. The most uncomfortable sleep ever attempting to have it not fall apart. They also had 3 pillows, two of which were gigantic and essentially unusable.

Very beautiful hotel , centrally located and a convenient parking. Spacious rooms, confortable beds, spa ad amazing pool. the breakfast was really really good and the staff very nice.

minor points but, given that this is a top class hotel they would be well advised to be slightly more generous with the amount of milk they provide in the rooms for your morning tea/ coffee. And the toilet paper provided was pathetic! Also, the room had a hugely complicated lighting system which was entirely unnecessary. And there’s really no need to have the bath exposed to the rest of the room!

The location is excellent; the facilities such as the rooftop pool, the spa, the gym are all superb; and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Spa hydrotherapy pool was cold and filtration system was noisy. Spa didn’t live up to the rest of the hotel.

Roof top terrace was stunning, Staff were extremely friendly and professional, Best Breakfast I’ve ever had with extensive options for all.

The hotel was lovely breakfast was amazing but the best part of our stay was the staff. Elsie and Rueben were very helpful and shared their knowledge about Medeira in depth never losing patience with our questions.

spa was ok but not that inviting. Breakfast was nice overall, particularly the fridge section and fruit but the hot food buffet not that great. we had a suite and a view - not sure if I’d want a courtyard view there unless a very short stay

The room we received, called atrium, was a bit small, no electricity sockets or night table near the bed, the toilet design with a shared door with the shower which was extremely uncomfortable

The location was perfect. Walking to the center, and old city. The breakfast was superb. The staff was very professional, helpful and responsive to every request , and even helped with tips to plan our stay in this beautiful island including wonderful recommendations to hiking and restaurants.
