The location of the hotel is amazing. Great view of the river and the surrounding vineyards and mountains. The restaurant with its patio is wonderful and has a wonderful view. The pool is not heated, But totally serves the purpose and has an excellent view. The rooms are Very small They functional. The AC is weak and Doesn’t work all too well. The staff is super nice.

There is nothing about this place not to like--or love.

A vacation within a vacation. A true 5-star experience on a magnificent estate above the Douro, a former winery with a handful of luxurious lodges with breathtaking views scattered amid the vineyards. Warm, attentive, personal service. Excellent restaurant with top-notch Ventozelo winelist. Highly, highly recommended.

Not a big issue, only consideration was that you don't see the vista at night so with full on lights set against a black background, the dining area felt cold - background music and dim lights to showcase the surroundings might create something more special.

First and last thing that we remember about Ventozelo is the engagement with staff, all were lovely and informative. One in particular was a lovely lady we spoke to at breakfast and lunch, who explained the workings of the estate having been there a while, a wonderful ambassador for the Quinta. The room was comfortable, well facilitated, and had a lovely outside space for a relaxing afternoon and/or evening. The whole location was very well set up for a fulfilling trip, the museum was fantastic and educational, as were the walking trips that were available with guided audio.

The drive up to the Quinta is not for the faint of heart. You will need your own car to explore the area.

The views and setting are spectacular!! Absolutely breath taking. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The staff was kind and the facilities were impecably clean. We wish we had better weather to enjoy the pool. The grounds are gorgeous and the patio with a drink is the place to be on a sunny day.

Beautiful place with excellent facilities and overall design very good. Lovely restaurant with good views and excellent food. Loved the swimming pool and so glad it was open. Did not leave the property for two days and never bored. Two staff were outstanding - Jesica welcomed us on arrival and was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Jaime in the restaurant was also extremely welcoming, pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

Nothing could have been better, it was perfect!

This hotel is INCREDIBLE. Seriously the highlight of our trip. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel allows you to walk many different trails through the vineyards and woods. The infinity pool was technically closed for the season, but it was warm enough that they let us swim. The room was beautifully designed and very spacious. We got to do a wine tasting at the estate, and also eat at the restaurant. Amazing hotel, will definitely go back!

They had terrible food for dinner, risotto taste like food for children sell in super market in mini jars… They don’t have ANY sport facilities as yoga mat etc. + the most important rooms are very poor and dark and internet barely works…

It was our second time staying at Ventozelo. It is no doubt, the best property to enjoy Douro Valley. Gorgeous view of the river, amazing food, good wine, and lovely trails to enjoy.

Wonderful location with exceptional views of the Douro River. All of the staff were exceptional. We were able to drive to a private dock on the property to catch a river boat cruise.
