Wow - as soon as you enter, you realize that the owners have taken every aspect into consideration - wonderful common areas, spotless furnishings and rooms, superior breakfast, helpful staff ... and the views, stunning. A perfect base to explore Sintra.

There is limited parking if you go with a car, and the road is one way. I recommend leaving the car there and using taxi to the places you can't walk.

Perfect room with the perfect view! Comfortable bed, big bathroom, delicious breakfast. Staff was attentive and went the extra mile. You can walk to Quinta da Regaleira and National Palace.

    Nothing.

Fantastic large room with windows on 3 sides. The views over Sintra were spectacular. The elevated position meant that the walk to the Moorish Castle was not as hard as starting from the railway station. The roads around the hotel did suffer greatly from the excessive traffic but you got used to it! Walking down into the old part of the town or the station area was very pleasant on an evening. It did mean that if you’d had a meal down there, there was the chance to burn off a few calories before going to bed!!

Steep location and busy narrow street did not affect us but would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues or wheelchair or even stroller. (Note that almost all of Sintra is like this.)

Beautifully and elegantly appointed building and guest rooms, comfortable, with outstanding views of the Sintra center. Short walk to the center as well as bus stop for 434 bus to Peña Palace and Moorish Castle and trail head to those sites for walkers. Alexandra was gracious and provided much helpful information. Breakfast choices were varied (including scrambled eggs) and delicious.

    We liked everything

Villa Bella Vista, stayed in the Palácio de Monserrate Room on the first floor. - Real wood floors, and marble in the hallways and bathroom. Heated floors in the bathroom were a really nice touch. Beautiful views from the window. Looks either recently renovated or just in immaculate shape. Centrally located. Quiet. Nice Breakfast. Would highly recommend. Excellent hotel!

Absolutely stunning renovation of the historic building. Every detail was perfection, especially the bedding and bathroom. The view from the balcony windows is breathtaking. The breakfast was also fantastic, with lots of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh baked breads, scrambled eggs and delicious coffee. A lovely retreat from the crowds in town, yet close enough to walk there. Would highly recommend. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.

The parking is a nightmare but when that issue is behind you - utopia follows. The front desk/mgr is top notch and is a real jewel. She provides advice, suggestions and comments that you should listen to and follow her suggestions.

Smell in bathroom, solved by flushing water in the shower after using the toilet. Must be loss of vent seal ? Old building issue.

10 for location. We stayed in the Roca room, it had a spectacular view. Breakfast excellent. Lift for luggage only. Park on the approach.. don't go past, can temporarily park in driveway entrance prior to building. Need coins for parking, 1 Euro per hour, maximum 4 Hours.
