Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe sensors in the bathroom. It’s an automatic light that activates when they sense a movement. However, in the shower, the light would keep turning off and I had to open the shower’s door so it would light up the room again.
I really like having my own private room. The water was hot for the shower, and although we had the share the main faculties, there was no one when I went to the bathroom. It felt like I was alone and not in a hostel.

Ireland-the bulbs in our room were not working very well. -it would help if staff were available at reception at all times rather than having to make a phone call for someone to arrive -the communal bathroom could have been cleaner
- the private room was very suitable for budget travelling. The bathroom was the perfect size and bedroom was clean -it’s location was perfect for travelling and exploring the city -all staff were very helpful in any queries we had and were more than happy to hold our luggage before and after check in

PortugalI didn't like the fact that the bathroom is shared with others at the same time. No privacy. I saw men coming out of the ladies bathroom. Made me feel insecure. And the light in the bathroom goes off really quick. No mirror in the bedroom,at least I could dress in privacy. At least have a mirror in the bedroom.

United KingdomThere could have been more space for clothing, at least the room which I occupied. I stayed 4 nights and on some occasions there was a lot of nose from adjacent rooms, but it dodn't last for too long (thankfully).
This is an inexpensive hotel with no frills. But it is clean, the staff are responsive and efficient, and it is one of the best parts of central Lisbon for getting around in a hurry. The one think I particularly appreciated was the roof top terrace proving atmospheric views of the Tagus estuary and other points if the city.

UkraineOur room 29 was next to the kitchen, a shared wall, when people use the kitchen, even just pouring water, we could hear the whole process, how it works, all the doors opening and closing, all the glasses hitting each other 😑 everything. The street noise was okay, but the kitchen noise is horrible 😖

United KingdomThe room was in a bad state in general, the lamp had only one bulb working out of 3. The design of the room is not as good as it was on the photos from booking. The furniture was very shabby looking, with a door on the wall as a decoration. Despite the cleanliness, there was some moist smell in the room, so some refreshment would not go a miss
The best thing about the room was that it was perfectly clean. It was quiet at night, and the city view was not bad at all. Plus the terrace on the roof gives you a good look around.
