  • Tutte le Albe nei Sassi Review score: 10

“- location: close to major sights & bus drop off point - large space and stylish bedroom - have all the facilities I need”

  • Ai Sassi di Pietro Review score: 10

“Location. Step out and up a little you will have the whole view of the old part Matera which shown in lots of movies. And walkable to every where you want to go in Matera. Giuseppe gave us a brief introduction of the whole place and a little local taste to take home. We wished we had more time. The place was clean, spacious, fully equipped and full of food. Most important, you can go home bragging about staying in a 600 years old stone cave house! How cool is that!”

  • Villa Mater Review score: 10

“Great villa and pool just a short drive from Matera. Definitely a great location to explore the area and then return to chill by the pool ☺️”

  • “Beautiful old farm transformed into a hotel. You can feel there like at home. Friendly staff, especially Enzo who can arrange anything for you. Nice pool (around 16 m) where you can really swim. Everything is almost perfect, architecture, even Masseria logo. Really appreciated our stay and rested. Thank you :-)”

  • Residence Del Casalnuovo Review score: 8

“Of course, Matera is a remarkable place and this small hotel is in the very heart of it, fifty yards walk away from remarkable view across the cave town. The room itself was carved into the rock and the public rooms were very striking - although dark. A big bonus is the chance to have breakfast at a smart hotel across the road with an outdoor space which also overlooked the town. Matera itself is truly remarkable - the archaeological museum is wonderful, too, and almost deserted.”

  • La Casa Di Rosa Review score: 8

“fabulous location . Far enough away from hustle and bustle but quiet for sleeping. Great hosts who were very helpful and great to deal with. Breakfast was provided and the home made cake delicious.”

  • La Pietra Gialla Review score: 9

“The view from the balcony was fantastic! We so much enjoyed our dinner with wine on the small balcony, overlooking the lush green hills and beautiful mountain-town. Host met us at parking (about 2 Euros a day, 5mins walk away) in front of Police station on main road and walked us to the apartment. A really lovely, quiet, good sized 2 bedroom apartment with all the facilities we needed. Loved the rock feature wall”

  • “Very good contact with the host. Apartment clean. Well equipped for a large group. A typical Italian breakfast - sweet but made of ready-made chemical products in foil.”

  • Agriturismo Tenuta Lagala Review score: 10

“It was our first stop arriving in Italy, with the intention to relax, enjoy good food, and drink wine by the pool, and it completely lived up to our expectations! The lovely hosts provided us with the best (sparkling) wines and homemade food. The room was small but comfortable, clean, quiet, and had a good shower. What we loved most was the amazing pool in a beautiful garden, with nice sun beds and a stunning view. We would recommend this place to anyone. The town of Venosa is charming and historic, offering delicious food. We recommend visiting Ganea; we had both lunch and the best pizza there.”
