“We appreciated being able to park directly in front of our room unit, making it much easier to carry our stuff into our space. Carpeted room has an inside hall door, linking it to other rooms too (e.g. conference hall), which would be great if travelling with a group for a special event. Liked having a microwave and mini-fridge to store beverages/snacks. Restaurant was separately owned and operated during hours of 5:30-9PM. We tried it out and thoroughly enjoyed the family-style menu of burgers, fish, pizza, etc... In spite of the waitress not speaking much English, we managed to place an order and found the homestyle pizza to be quite delicious and filling!”
“Friendly, professional, and great attention to detail. Provided a welcome dog bed and dog snacks along with dog bowls which was a nice touch. Easy check-in and check-out experience, and the parking was great.”
“As I was pulling up to the Grand TIMES Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised, as I never realized that facility even existed in Drummondville....where I drive by every two months or so.
And frankly, I was going to give it top-ratings, until I walked into the room in total darkness....one hand dragging my suitcase/briefcase, the other fumbling for a light-switch (any light-switch at this point!)....nothing to the right, nothing to the left, high-ceiling prevented me to attempt finding a switch up there....lol....I didn't dare walking too far into the room, lest i stumble over some furntiture. Flicking on the cell flashlight did help somewhat....I now identified a large dark-brown(open) door leading to the bathroom; followed by a dark-brown wall, around the corner of which I found a light-switch (dark-brown housing with a grey switch). This lit up the room acceptably.
But the switch which one would expect to find close to the entrance door inside, was in fact hidden behind the open bathroom door, so as to make it absolutely impossible to find it! (which ever interior designer thought of this, should be hung from the rafters, tarred & feathered!)
The rest of the evening was actually quite pleasant. I was accorded a room on the 9th floor, with large floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows affording a great view over the town. (both at night, as well as the following morning....brownie points).
The king-bed is huge with plenty of comfortable pillows. The work-desk along one wall is just deep enough for a lap-top (but I guess younger guests tend to sit on the rocking arm-chair or the bed...so that would not be an issue for them). The office chair was very comfy and held the air-suspension quite well.
The bathroom is well appointed, but beware if you're flat-footed....the hotel does not supply rubber-mats for the shower-floor, and that becomes a very slippery proposition..”
