    “I arrived to a traditional French chalet that had been recently renovated. The gardens were immaculate and the host greeted me promptly and warmly. The breakfast was the usual spread of cheese, meats, yogurt, bread, fruit, and coffee. All thoughtful laid out. The big bonus was the host offering me VIP access to his wife's grocery store the next morning. She just gave birth to their son and so the store was closed but knowing that I was headed off for a drive into the mountains and that I appreciated local products and curated gourmet foods, he gave me the full tour and sent me off with fantastic cheeses, speciality wines, olives, yogurts, potato chips, microbrew beers, crackers, and specialty chocolates. It was fabulous. So, if you go be sure to visit their grocery store which was voted #1 in France!”

    “Really exceptional experience from start to finish! It is a lovely property in a good location. It was clean and comfortable with a modern heating system that kept a nice level of temperature at all times. I arrived soaking wet after a long motorbike ride in the rain and the host took my wet things and hung them in a warm room to dry. The next day, the host was very chatty and showed me a popular biking route on the map... I changed my route and followed his recommendation... it was amazing. There was such a lovely atmosphere. I would really recommend this to anyone; families, lone travellers, bikers... it's great.”

    “The property is magnificently situated with a privileged view over the Champsaur valley, offering breathtaking scenery that we could admire all day. The owners were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home upon arrival. Jean's precious hiking advice was invaluable, leading us to beautiful trails in the area. The incredible dinner was another highlight of our stay, where we had the pleasure of meeting other friendly and interesting guests. The atmosphere was filled with joy, relaxation, and comfort, making it an unforgettable experience.”

    “Josee Marie is a wonderful woman and artist. You feel it in every corner of her house. Though the house is very old,it is soulful and has everything you need. Don't expect a brand new space. You come here for mountain views, quiet nature,pure river, singing birds and no phone connection. Hope to come back to lovely La Villard”
