  • Varandas do Arraial- Hostel Review score: 7

“I stayed there for 1.5 week in winter/low season, and at 35 reais per night with breakfast included, that was great value and balanced the inconveniences of the place, which were not few: noise from guests and staff at night; incomplete kitchen; fridge, microwave and sink disgustingly dirty; kitchen space almost completely taken by staff (pots at meal times, shelves, fridge); only two bathrooms available; lack of lights at the outdoor tables at night. That said, other things were alright: comfortable mattress, clean bedsheets, one bathroom with warm shower, big dorms with space for everybody, nice house overall, nice travelers vibe and great location near the port.”

  • Pousada Missanga Review score: 9

“The place is spotlessly clean and rooms are set around a beautiful courtyard pool area with tropical plants attracting birds and butterflies. We even say a tiny monkey one day. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with fresh juice. It's a nice place to chill out between trips. Easy walk to the old historic centre and boat trips with lots of restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket also nearby. We parked in a shady spot on the road just behind the property with no need to use the garage offered.”

  • Pousada Talismã Review score: 8

“Location just off the centre of Paraty, so easily reachable by car but the historic centre was only two mins walk away. Breakfast rotated every day, big rooms with a lot of space.”
