Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaWhen we checked in, we were informed there would be an event on saturday evening, but it would be finished by midnight. the noise during the event was insufferable, taking into account it took place in the middle of a so-called 4 star hotel. Only after calling the reception multiple times and threatening to call the police did they end the event at 2 am. But drunk guests continued to make noise, fight and break things without anyone of the staff intervening. They seemed very uninterested in the wellbeing of hotel guests. And then I haven’t even mentioned the horrible smell in the room when we arrived, the shower that flooded the bathroom, the basic breakfast and the rude receptioninst at checkout. Definitely not a 4 star experience.
it’s nicely located outside the city, with a lovely view.

RomaniaReception area very poor, no lobby almost. Reception staff makes you feel that you are in state office to pay tax etc :) When we arrived to hotel no words like "welcome to our hotel" or while leaving "how was your stay" etc. On floors there were ugly couches in coridors. Hotel didnt care to details. Ordinary 4 stars but according to service, details unnecssary expensive. If they pay attention to these details, its good hotel.
Restaurant for breakfast, view of city from balcony in room were good. Room was ordinary, furniture in room was old also balcony was 3rd class building balcony. Menwhile breakfast was ok.

GreeceMy room had an awful cigarette smell. Initially I was told to open up the windows, then that a cleaner will clean it properly and the smell will leave. None of the above worked but they kept me there for 3 days until they offered me a room change(not upgrade). My take is that they are fully aware of problematic smelly rooms and try to keep someone as long as possible there to have them occupied. Other than that, I booked a massage and I learned 15 mins after the arranged appointment that the masseuse is not available today. Generally no attention to detail and low quality for a 4 starts hotel.

Kazakhstan-Only one Reception for two Hotels: Grand Belvedere and Hotel Belvedere; -For check-in and check-out I had to go to another Hotel; -Only one Restaurant at Grand Belvedere for two Hotels, therefore we had to visit another Hotel for breakfast; - Furniture needs repair or replacement: bed and chairs are falling through; - The elevator goes to the intermediate floor, so you have to carry your suitcases up the stairs

FranceEverything was perfect ! :)
The restaurant is one of the best restaurant of brasov (trip advisor) with an extraordinary view on the city. It was so delicious to eat there. The room was enough spacious and modern with all the comfort needed. The swimming pool and the spa area is simply beautiful with a good hammam. A jacuzzi would be a plus but not especially needed for us. The workers was kind and switch us immediately the room when we requested it to have the view on the city. Nothing more to say it was a very pleasant stay. Thank to the belvedere team.

IrelandThat we had to keep crossing the street in the cold weather to the other building to go to the indoor pool or for breakfast. Most of the staff was very helpful and nice , once receptionist seemed particularly bothered that we asked him to please call us a taxi as our phones didnt work abroad and kept telling me to google it had to insist but other than that every other staff member was very nice
The view from the hotel was nice , they had an outdoor pool and an indoor pool even if across the road in a separate building . Room size was huge very big room

IsraelNothing in particular. Only if you're not getting there by yourself. Because in this case hotel is too high above the old city.
We've booked a hotel belvedere, but because the restoration is going, we were upgraded to grand belvedere. Big rooms, amazing food, good view and an indoor pool are great things that this hotel has.

RomaniaI made a reservation for a long and quiet weekend with my husband and it was exactly the opposite. After booking a non-refundable room, I was informed that during that weekend there will be a wedding in the hotel, so there will be loud music during the night. “Thanks for the understanding” but no possibility to cancel my booking. When we arrived, there was no parking lot available around the hotel for 2 km, because all the wedding guests were parked there. We had to carry our luggages from 2 km away. Because of the wedding, the restaurant was closed, same as the outside pool. The indoor pool is in fact in another building across the street, were was another party, so we could not get there in pool flip-flops and towels… at least for me is not comfortable to do so, especially when it was raining like hell… Once got into the room, we were hopping for a relaxing time the day hiking, but this was also imposing due to the noisy kids yelling in front of our room - right next to the reception - were the no receptionist was available for long time. When calling the reception number provided in the room, a lady from the building across the street answered and said it’s the right number and cannot help. The jacuzzi in the room was not working either. The furniture in the room was old and damaged, pillows very uncomfortable, and no charging slot next to the bed available. On top off all the noise and very unpleasant situation, our room was on the ground floor, with the windows next to the parking area, were besides the loud music (manele), the yelling and swearing of some of the guests was the cherry on the top 🤬 Based on this experience, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially after paying more than 120 EUR per night.
Nothing

Romania- AC was not cooling properly and did some weird noise during night - as window, the room actually had a door which had direct exit to the public terace, so was not confy to open it to have fresh air(avoid rooms starting with 1) - poor lighting in the room - when was check in time, it was just a person at the reception with many customers waiting - there was nothing special about breakfast, only basic things, not so much variety and no refill - a 4 stars hotel should provide extra service, but this one did not
-The beds were comfy and the bathroom spacious - Located in a silent area with a nice view of Tâmpa Mountain

RomaniaSince the moment we checked in, we had a set-back. We booked a Superior Double Room on Booking.com at a particular rate and we were checked into another room (also Superior Double, but at Grand Hotel Belvedere, the newer building), which was significantly different than what we booked. There was a difference of about 70EUR for 2 nights that we paid extra (the rate for the room we were checked in was lower than what we paid for). The reception staff was not at all willing to help, although it was clearly an error on the hotel side and it could have been very easily handled. We were told the rooms we booked were not available (in Hotel Belvedere) and all guests were checked into the new building. We were ok with the option, but demanded to pay the room fee instead of what they charged us. They said it cannot be done, since they already charged the card. Then we had to speak with multiple people about it, which made us feel like "begging" for getting what we have paid for. Although we were very flexible and were absolutely fine with changing the room, we also wanted to make sure we are treated as paying customers and get compensation for the difference. We ended up getting a 50EUR event voucher, but it literally felts as if we had to beg for it. We were very disappointed of how we have been treated, especially since we were not difficult customers and were very flexible in the way we could have been compensated. Also, not to mention the wi-fi did not work while we were checked in, which I find unacceptable for a 4-star hotel in a big city.
The hotel itself is very nice, the view is amazing. The best part is the restaurant - great value for money, really good food and the restaurant staff is amazing (Anca, our waitress during dinner, was really nice and she offered very good advise in terms of food and wine choices)
