Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBring a strong dose of patience and plan to hunt for parking. Finding a parking space is worth the effort. You will not regret your stay at Hotel Boutique Casa Chitic!

MaltaThe Location is a short walk from Brasov square with plenty of restaurants to choose. Breakfast worth having as it was great and would also suggest restaurant adjacent to hotel for excellent seafood pasta. Brasov is a good hub to visit important places around the area and renting a car is ideal, parking close by as well.

United KingdomNo lift - though there are only 3 floors (inc. ground floor).
Very accomodating. Was initially given a room on the second floor but reallocated a room on the first floor for easier access due to my pre-existing knee injury. Also requested vegan options for breakfast and they reserved soy milk and hot cooked meal (fried mixed veg).

RomaniaA lot of strairs from the bathroom/ livingroom area to the bedroom. We had the room with the window in the middle of the bed frame and it was very interesting. But it should have a system for shade as in the morning is sunny exactly in the bed 😅 The bed was so small for the size of the room and price (only 160cm wide) when the description said extra large bed. That's just medium size.
The room was clean, very spacious, beautiful! Welcoming wine was a very nice touch! Perfect location.

IrelandThe staircase climb up to our room. Not anyone's fault but the only thing I was not fond of.
Excellent location. Greeted by one of the best hotel employees I have ever experienced - didn't get his name as he was off duty the last two days we were there.

United KingdomNothing, it was all perfect !
I loved the room , it was very comfortable and modern but with traditional beams. Room no 7 was perfect for 4 of us and we all slept very well . The reception guy , whose name I can’t remember.. sorry ! was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was amazing and we could dine inside or out . The location is perfect too and I would definitely recommend Casa Chitic to anyone staying in Brasov .. it’s a wonderful place to stay .

RomaniaCan't think of anything. Maybe if you travel by car, you would find dificult finding a parking spot in the area, but is solvable. Not the hotel's fault in any way.
Excellent location, services and comfort. The coffee at breakfast was the best i've had in a long time. Will definitively come back. Highly recommend!

IsraelOne thing and the place is perfect - AIR CONDITION The weather was really hot when we were there in July. There were 2 fans in the room which made the nights ok, but wouldn't do during day time. Luckily we weren't in the room during the day
We got the DLX apartment for a family of 5 and had a great 4-night stay The room was beautiful and luxurious (arched brick ceiling, nice wooden furniture, a lot of windows, etc.), spacious, quiet, very clean, made every day Breakfast was good with a nice fresh variety Very helpful English speaking staff Very reasonable price The location is perfect - in Brasov's old city, just seconds walk from the main street. There's car access to the front of the hotel - very helpful when checking in and out with luggage, but you'll have to look for street parking. It didn't take us more than 5-7 minutes to find one every evening when we got back from our day's excursion. Parking is cheap and parking meters are simple to operate once you realize you can switch to English... (take a picture of your car's license plate No. though, you'll need to type it in)

RomaniaThe strong smell of chlorine when we arrived, but it was to be expected with the Covid protocols in place, and it soon went away after we opened the windows/turned the room ventilation higher.
The room was clean, spacious and bright, overlooking the Tâmpa Mountain. They're also nicely furnished and decorated. Good value and diverse breakfast. The bathroom was also clean and with plenty of towels, plus different amenities.

United Arab EmiratesThe location of the room, it was in the corner facing the street. In front of the window it had a street lamp which illuminated the whole night and the curtains were not black out or even close.. Due to the position of the room it was quite noisy, especially during the early hours of the morning (5am)when the refuse removal truck came to pick up the trash. For a boutique hotel one would expect more comfort regarding noise and light consideration.
IThe location was very good. Very close to Piata Sfatului The room was quite big and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating The style of the rooms are very pretty.
