How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Firstly, the host Dan... Dan is a great guy, he met me at the apartment to show me around and talked to me about the history of the Citadel and some of the buildings within the boundaries. He really knows his history. Dan also runs a tour service that you can take uo with him and he will personally take you to other key locations outside of Sighisoara. The apartment was absolutely amazing! It's within the grounds of the Citadel and only a 15 minute walk from the train station. It has a secure entrance leading to the apartment itself. Fully fiited kitchen with a gas cooker with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a small dining table that seats 4 people. The bathroom leads off from the kitchen, walk in shower, wash basin and lavatory. Instant hot water via the fitted combi boiler. The living room is very large, it contains a large sofa which opens up into a double bed. An armchair with a couple of foots stools for extra seating. There is also a large wardrobe in this room. Large wall mounted flat screen TV. Central heating is available throughout the apartment. The bedroom contains a large double bed wity a couple of nightstands either side. The bed is very comfortable. This apartment really is great! Contains all the amenities and facilities you would have in your home. The fact that it os located within the grounds of the Citadel itself is just perfect. I plqn on coming back again and will definitely try booking this apartment again. 10/10 Aadil, UK

Very convenient location to explore the old part of the city. Dan, the host, was very friendly and helpful. The apartment has all the facilities for a confortable stay.

Kitchen isn’t cosy, feels like old coliving place. For short stay it’s ok, for long… i’d think twice. Issues with the hot/cold water - you have to be very carefull to not to make error for heater. Both children were informed, but… error appeared few times.
Location is in the citadel, it’s perfect. Free parking just down the hill. You are allowed to drive till the apartment to drop/pick up luggage. We liked citadel very much, very old, nice and cosy place.

Shame there is no air conditioning, which seems to be the norm in Romania. A fan would have been nice. Water temperature in shower can be problematic The main bed is terribly soft. If you don't like that, you won't like the bed. I had a bad night sleep and my back was in spasm for hours the next day.
Location was amazing. The apartment was spacious and Dan was so helpful from before we arrived until after we left. The kitchen has everything and the apartment was spacious in a classic old house in the heart of the citadel.

Dan tries to do his best and something more. The house has some imperfections but it doesn't matter because it leaves you a very nice feeling. I recommend the place to people who are not excited about the facilities of a hotel but want contact with a local and feel like a local.

Location, cleanleness, helpfull owner. 2 mim from the Clock Tower. The owner can organoze tours at various Saxon Citadel Churches in the region

Everything was just perfect, the host is very helpful and the apartment fully equipped with all you might possibly need. Location in the very centre is great.

Everything was perfect! Dan is an incredible host. He showed us where to park for free and took us with his car to the place so we didn't have to walk. The location is perfect. Bed super comfortable. Great value for price. Would definitely come back!

The apartment is very clean and comfortable . It is situated in the Old part of Sighișoara in a quiet area. The host is very polite and describe everything about Sighișoara and surrounded area. He gave me a map of the old town with description of sightseeing. I recommend this apartment.

Excellent apartment , located in the Old Town. Very well equipped and has everything you need. The parking is outside Old Town. Dan, the manager, took us to the apartment by car.

I enjoyed staying in this old house facing trees at the edge of the citadel. It was quiet. The owner is available to help you for information and check in.
