How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The owner is a great guy, very caring. The flat was very nice and clean. There is a smart TV in the flat. Internet was fast. There are microwave, oven, kettle, washing machine, dishwasher and their detergents. Its location is very close to the old settlement. It is located right in the centre. I was satisfied, if I come to Bucharest again, I would like to stay here again.

The pillows lacked 'a bit of substance' and the curtains in the bedroom are thin, which means it is very light, very early, however I took both my own pillow and an eye mask, so this wasn't a problem for me. The bedroom would also benefit from a bedside lamp. Also, if you like it cool at night, then earplugs are a must because we had to keep the windows open all night and the street is quite noisy. I'll just add here though that it is very quiet when the windows are shut! We were equipt however, so none of this was an issue for us, but it is worth noting if you are 'particular' like me!
The apartment is clean, spacious and beautifully kept. The shower is amazing!! Once you're in, you really don't want to get out! The kitchen was also well equipt, which was great as we had breakfast there each morning. The location is perfect for exploring. The owner was fantastic! He did a return airport transfer for free, even though we didn't arrive until midnight and sent us some excellent recommendations, based on what we had mentioned that we wanted to do. He even took the time to message me on my birthday whilst we were there! We would definitely recommend and stay here again!

The accommodation was immaculately clean and incredibly convenient, boasting all the amenities we could ask for. Located in the heart of the city, it made exploring a breeze. Lack of a coffee machine (but they also provided instant coffee which is a big plus) This is just my personal preference, so don’t mind it if you are not a heavy coffee drinker.
The apartment is amazing, located in the heart of beautiful Bucharest. It’s a 2 minute walk to the Old City (Centrul Vechi) and you can find anything - from coffee shops, restaurants to supermarkets and pharmacies near by. The owners, Laurentiu and Isabella are one of the most amazing hosts I’ve encountered, catering to every need you might have. I had to check-out late as I was working and also had a lot of luggage and they let me stay over the check-out time and they also provided airport transfer at a very low price compared to taxi’s and Uber. You will definitely love it!

- even though the building is old, the walls are pretty thin and if the above neighbour starts screaming or has a party, you will hear everything.
- you are in the heart of Bucharest, 10 min walk distance to the old city. - close to the Tandem Office Building, 2-3 min walk distance. - plenty restaurants nearby, with a KFC at the ground floor. - clean apartment and comfortable bed. - metro station nearby. - public parking around the building.

High ceilings and airy apartment. Also has air conditioning. Lovely balcony. Clean throughout and well equipped kitchen. Bedsheets were good quality cotton and towels. Excellent shower with good pressure. Hosts are most welcoming.

It was a bit hard getting an invoice for the trip. That's it. I cannot be more satisfied with our stay at this property and really have little to no negative remarks, so my advice is - just book it if you have the luck to see it's free :)
This was probably the best AirBnB style accommodation that I have ever visited. The location is perfect, being right in the heart of Bucharest. There is an abundance of restaurants, bars, pizza places and gelato shops. Most landmarks are walking distance from the property. The host was very welcoming and helpful. He actually got us from the airport and showed us some of the landmarks which are further away from the center and gave us tips about how to get there, what to expect and such. The property itself is not only clean and accommodating, but it does have the warm and cuddly feeling of being an actual home. There are nice plants on the balcony, coffee and even some sweets left out for the guests. I rarely give a 10, but those hosts are just a different category. The only problem is that it is rarely free, so if you have the luck of catching an opening, do not hesitate.

Great hosts, great location, great value for money. Really clean. You have everything you need in this apartament. I recommend to everyone. Even the host proposed me that he will drive me to the airport for free. You will enjoy in Bucharest. 10/10

Everything was perfect. Very good location. Five minutes walking to Old Town and Metro station, ten minuters to Parliament. Beautiful parks nearby. The apartment is clean and have everything You need. The host is kind and ready to help anytime. I hope one day we will come again.
