Lovely food with a lot of delicious things and traditional meals end many many others surprises.Looking at the staff you are feeling like you’re from the same family .Casa de la Mara is the best place for relaxing and enjoying various things in end out of the resort area

A wonderful place where you can forget about everything. Starting with the location, which is a story, it is a very well-kept place that combines traditional with comfort. About the hosts, I can say that they exceeded expectations, some open hosts, always present, the place showed impeccable in every day, all the necessary services and special respect. we loved the traditional style. we loved how quiet and peaceful the place can be. the hosts are very warm and they go out of their way to ensure the time spent there is the way we want to be. the food is excellent, it has real taste and it’s made daily.

We loved our stay in this incredible place. It has an amazing rustic feel, but without lacking any of the modern touches. The room we had booked was smaller than we had anticipated, but the host was incredible and she agreed to change it for us, even though she didn't have to. So we ended up with a bigger room, that had a very big and comfy bed. Bathroom was also very nice and everything was clean. The breakfast was very good and very traditional.

We are a French couple working in Bucharest. Casa de la Mara is a perfect stay to visit and enjoy Maramures ! Geographic situation is very convenient. The property itself is a vast and calm park with fantastic view on the landscape, with a lot of space. The main house as well as the two smaller ones are build in traditional style but with all the modern comfort ( and nice bathrooms ). The bedroom itself was large and very clean. The balcony gave me the possibility to work with my laptop outside and to enjoy the view as well. We were very nicely welcomed and the owner paid a great attention to the smallest detail to make our stay smooth and comfortable, and was very friendly at the same time. Breakfast was great : with very good local products and some of them home made ! To note that the owner offers also the possibility to have lunch and dinner at a second location ( less than three minutes drive ) with here again great local products ( even fresh fishes and trouts ). In short, we have been extensively travelling across Romania over the last 5 years ( except the covid times of course ) and we can say for sure that Casa de la Mara is on the top of our list now :-)

The breakfast had really nice zacusca, bread and jams but we did not enjoy the main platter of meats and cheese.

The place was very pretty, a lovely house with a large property. The decor was traditional Romanian and comfortable. We had a nice time.

The bed was quite big but also quite squeaky. There wasn't much in the bathroom in terms of shampoo or shower gels (there were a few little soaps but we didn't use them, we preferred to buy toiletries from a shop in the village). They don't have menus in the restaurant so you're not sure about what prices they have; we were told at the very end what the food costed every day. It was a more than decent price and we had no problems but it'd be good to know ahead of time.

The houses are located in a very nice and green big garden - they are traditional houses nicely renovated on the interior. There is a traditional outdoor wooden bathing tub (heated water) and a shower and sauna. We didn't use them but they all looked rather new and other guests were using them. The room we stayed in was quite big and the bathroom was a good size. We liked the house. Didn't use the kitchen but there is one (there are a couple of fridges too for the guests to use) and there's also a large living and dining room on the ground floor. The hosts bring you breakfast in the morning if you tell them and there's a decent coffee machine on the terrace (there's a covered terrace with benches and a with a nice view). The hosts are very helpful, they even drove us back from their restaurant to the house one evening when we've had a drink or two and couldn't drive. They have a closed circuit restaurant/terrace with good fried fish (trout that they farm themselves) and other traditional dishes. It's a family business and I felt they were trying their best to make people feel at home and feel good there.

A charming place with lovely hosts, amazing landscape and delicious food. The room was clean, very comfortable and we were able to enjoy all the facilities from the property. It is the perfect place to stay if you want to discover Maramures.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa del la Mara. The grounds and the house are well kept. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was fresh and incredible. And the owners and the staff were friendly and available. Maramures hospitality all the way. We hope to visit again next year!

The location, the traditional houses, the courtyard and especially the view are enchanting. A 10+ for the hosts and for the delicious traditional food they prepared for us. A perfect place for a holiday in Maramures :)
