How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was a bit small, limited space for luggage, shower floor overflowed onto floor.
Modern and classy feeling, nice touches such as water with fresh herbs in the lobby. Great location in center of city near cafes and shops.

Quite noisy from traffic.

Everything worked very well, it is hard to point to anything that I did not like. However, I noticed that the room walls apparently were quite thin, as sounds from neighboring rooms could be heard.
The room was clean, had a conformable big bed, a work desk and a big-screen TV including BBC news and some English-speaking shows. The shower worked very well and the towels were good quality. The buffet breakfast had everything, even gluten-free bread! There were free water and apples available at the reception. The location was a 10-minute walk from the very city center, and close to the No 100 bus to take you to the airport. The closest bus stop Piata Romana to the airport was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The service was excellent, the early wake-up call worked and I received the requested breakfast to go, nicely packed in a paper bag.

It doesn't look like a 4 stars Hotel. Some of the stuff was good, and some less. The bathroom was not clean enough.
The price was fair. The location is good. Breakfast is good.

I really enjoyed my staying in the hotel also the city was beautiful. Very clean hotel and comfortable. But there was a receptionist very very rude we asked if there was available extra towel because our was very wet and she just started to shouting to us that only in the morning they give out towels and we asked in the afternoon 18:30 Except this the hotel was good

- it wasn't possible to close the door to the bathroom - cleaning during the stay included just emptying the trash, changing towels, and making the bed - no actual cleaning - one small bottle of water for the whole stay - some sockets didn't work - dirty windows - bad soundproofing
- the location - 24/7 reception - the staff ready to help you (they also recommended a really nice restaurant with national cuisine) - the possibility to keep the same room for an extended stay - cosmetic tissues in the bathroom

If you are booking a room for 3 keep in mind that the extra bed is not comfortable. It was clean but could be cleaner. The temperature was fine but you could not control the heat in the room. The breakfast was okay but did not offer many choices. The soundproofing is not good.
The bed was large and comfortable. The view was nice. The location was good.

We had a big issue with our key-cards they gave us 3 keys and they were all discharged when we were trying to open the door

Quite enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The location is nice, very close to city center and with convenient transport. Room is always kept clean and tidy. Breakfast is excellent with different kind of choices. Staff are very nice and friendly. Definitely recommend!

The staff could have been a bit more helpful
We enjoyed all aspects of our stay at Leonardo Hotel. Central location (walking distance from the old city centre), close to bus stations, great room and facilities, super clean, including fitness room etc. Oh! the view from the room was fabulous!

The room’s AC didn’t work and had to open the window to cool the room down. The room was by the main road and it’s a busy road- lots of horns going off which woke us up a few times. The hotel breakfast was fine but it wasn’t hot by the time we came by.
Walking distance to the old town and there’s a grocery store nearby.

The noise from the other room was shockingly loud.
Overall we really enjoyed staying here and the breakfast was delicious and the options were varied daily. The sound, however, was a problem. Most of the rooms have an adjoining door and the walls are impeccably thin. We could hear the neighbors (who happened to be incredibly loud/obnoxious, could hear their texts and loud aggressive phone calls, playing music out of phone speakers) like they were in the same room, there was zero noise control. The concierge was very helpful and moved us rooms the following day and upgraded us to a larger corner unit, which we really appreciated as we were there for 4 nights. The TV internet wouldn’t work however and couldn’t get a technician to look into it, but there were plenty of options on live TV so we were sorted.
