LatviaThe rooms are not the freshest, looks like they were renovated a while ago. But they were clean.
Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Included a lot of fruits, pastries, joghurts, cheeses, eggs etc, however the coffee wasn’t good. Amazing huge, fresh gym, there was every equipment you could think of (TRX, CrossFit, weights, boxing equipment etc). The spa was also fresh and clean.

United KingdomI recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Italia in Cluj for a three-night stint during the Upriserz event and had a mixed experience, prompting me to give the hotel a 3-star rating. On the positive side, the hotel boasts an impressive facade and the rooms offer a decent level of comfort. The location was also convenient for attending the Upriserz event, which was a highlight of my trip. However, there were several aspects of my stay that fell short of expectations. For starters, breakfast was a bit of a challenge. If you're not an early bird, you may find the pickings quite slim. It appears that the hotel doesn't regularly replenish food items once they run out, which was a bit of a letdown considering the caliber of the establishment. Additionally, I encountered an unpleasant situation when attempting to draw a bath. The water ran with a disconcerting black-yellow tint and was accompanied by small debris. Despite several attempts to let it run clear, the issue persisted, leading me to abandon the idea of a relaxing soak and opt for the shower cabin instead. The event itself drew a crowd of a thousand people, and it became evident that the hotel restaurant wasn't equipped to handle such a large number simultaneously during the lunch break. The lack of adequate seating forced me and several other attendees to eat standing up, which was not ideal and detracted from the overall experience. The room's air conditioning system left a lot to be desired as well. It was preset and offered no option to adjust the temperature, only to turn it off completely, which resulted in an uncomfortably dry atmosphere in the room. For a hotel that prides itself on being a five-star establishment, these issues were quite disappointing, especially when considering the price paid for the stay. One would expect a seamless experience with top-notch amenities and services.
While the Grand Hotel Italia certainly has potential, it's clear that there are areas in need of improvement to truly deliver the luxury experience that guests anticipate.

United KingdomPart of the staff was rude, unpolite, and moody. There was a lady at the bar in the evening, which seemed that she hated her job and everyone all once. She was sarcastic and definitely with a very low mood to do her job. Separately, the reception gave a room key to someone who pretended it was my roommate's lover, although the room was registered on my name only... even though the reception was called not to let anyone up, they just didn't care and actually changed that person's key card 3 times as it was not working... the danger we were exposed 😳 that night was unbelievable, and somehow, all the receptionist could say it was that it was just a mistake... The room was cleaned and spacious, but the staff... the exeptions were a few bar waiters who were polite and did their job properly.
The room is big and spacious. The bathroom as well. All very clean and tidy. Digital technology. Comfy and very warm room. Nothing wrong here.

RomaniaUsed plates, empty glasses, stained table cloths left on tables on the terrace Italian restaurant. There was only 1 table busy. My steak was tough and chewy. Absolutely does not deserve 5 stars. Staff are not really into their jobs, hotel seems more focussed in events than personal stays. I have stayed at this hotel a lot, and was always my favourite. Not sure what has happened but it has declined and i have only outlined some negatives. I will never stay there again.

RomaniaWe requested a matrimonial bed but in the room were two twin beds united and we fell through these while sleeping. The facilities were not at the level of a 5 stars hotel, the gym was really small, no indoor pool, no spa, nothing to do.

RomaniaIt is a 3 stars hotel... 4 at the most. I had better service at a drive thruth fast food than in this restaurant. Dirty tablecloths and cuttlery, they bring the food before the forks, no salt and pepper on the table. Only the prices are 5 stars. The room was nice and quite big but the cleaningness lacks. They only take out part of the trash and chage towels. I saw the same french frie on a heater on the hallway for 2 days in a row and when I checked out was still there... Do not recommend.

JerseyNot going to go into too many details but the main ones were that the hotel generally felt tired, apart from two very pleasant and attentive female members of staff the others either ignored you or were in fact quit rude. I had a friend visit the hotel to see me and she was so embarrassed by the attitude of her fellow Rumanian’s. The male waiter was even rude to her whilst simply requesting for a camomile tea explaining that had she of pronounced it properly he would have understood her when she first asked! The pool was a disappointment… totally packed out with non-residents and again the staff just have no idea about service or even being helpful. These are not just niggles and just not what you would expect for a 5 star hotel. One other thing, the breakfast was until 10.00. The food became limited post 9.30!

Nice hotel in that it looks grand. Old fashioned. Staff really unfriendly, and make it clear they can't be bothered. In fact, id go as far to say they are arrogant. Slow service at bar as not enough staff. Won't go back, prefer the Hamilton by Hilton - staff friendly and you feel comfortable. Not 5 star, more like 3 star at a push.

RomaniaThe bed was catastrophic ! When you book an junior suite with an extra large bed, you expect just that ! Instead you get a bed made by two 1 person mattresses put together. Whatever you do, in the middle of the night, you find yourself down in the gape between the two mattresses. Very disappointing from a 4 start hotel.
