How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nice little room in a quiet location despite its only 5 minutes away from the train station. The host is very nice and they have a cute little cat extremely friendly

The owner of the hostel was very intrusive with a request to check out earlier. he pressed me a lot with questions about where we were going in the morning and whether we could check out before 10 am. he literally wanted us to do this at 6 am when we were going to the embassy, he was rude and impolite

There were some insects in my room and there is no working AC other than that it was fairly clean and I had a fan.
I liked how close it was to the railway station and the convenience of getting in and settling in. There was very good Wi-Fi as well.

No WiFi in room. Room in basement, so "view of inner courtyard" was just of people's feet.

Room was not huge, bed was a modest double size. But all OK. Windows were south facing, so room got rather hot in the afternoon. Lumpy pillows.
Friendly place to stay, nice atmosphere, host attentive and genial. You can drink the tap water, he even has a special patio tap for filling bottles etc. Tables and chairs on the large patio, BBQ, so you can bring in your own food and drink. Fridge in the rooms. A classic style building situated on a quiet back road but very close to train station (5 minutes walk max). Train to airport frequent, including at 4am, costs about 1€ (5 ron). You can check out 24hrs.

You could hear the neighbours TV through the walls (not that it mattered too much as we were always so tired that we slept through it) and there was no kitchen facilities of any kind (no kettle even).
The guy on reception was very helpful and advised us with the best luggage storage to use and it was excellent value for money! The King room was pretty comfortable. They did have a little fridge in the room which was useful for storing food.

You weren’t aloud to flush any paper in the toilet. The bathroom lacked a sliding door when showering. The toilet seat wasn’t fixed.
The location was prefect for us. near the Gara De Nord and several busses near. Clean hostel.

Room furniture a bit old or broken, TV did not work properly.
Fairly clean, bed was comfortable. Staff were nice. Ideal for short term stay, just a few minutes walk from the train station.

There was no elevator, the check out was at 8am

The hostel is near the train station but pretty far from the city centre. WiFi didn't reach the room. The owner barely speaks any English.

The wifi didn’t reach my room but it did on the terrace so not a big deal
Very close to the station. The room was immaculate and the property seemed well looked after. The guy that runs it was very friendly and kind to me, always said hello and smiled which was nice. He keeps everything locked which made me feel safe. The room was comfortable and the fridge was a nice touch too with the heat.

They limit the air conditioner use to 11 PM. It’s hot that day.
A nice place to stay and very affordable. Rate was 170 Ron/day for twin bed. July 29, 2022. Great with fair weather.

Nice guesthouse with kind, smiling hosts. It's located just 5 minutes walk from the main railway station in an incredible quiet area. Great value for money.

There could had been more storage space in the room for belongings.
Very old school Romanian court with couple of rooms. The location was very convenient next to the main railway station with metro connections. The room was cosy and clean. We enjoyed the two cats that lived in the court. Very nice. The host was helpful and called us in advance about what time were we about to arrive.

Perfect for people who need to catch a train in the morning, do not need a lot of sleep or WiFi in the room. Unfortunarely I like sleeping and checking my mails in the morning.

You cannot pay by card
Perfect location if you travel from the nearby train station. The host was friendly and we could check-in late after arriving from another city after the official check-in time. The room was all what we needed for a quick layover.

The pillows were feather pillow, and I have allergies, but apart from this, everything was fine, for this price.
