Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing - it was great.
The receptionist Christy is outstanding. I see her cleaning all day long and it is truly the cleanest place I’ve stayed in. Also the beds are very comfortable which is rare for hostels. This is a quality place that takes pride in being a hostel and it shows. Location is incredible!! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in Brasov.

RomaniaA fan/ ventilator in the bathroom and a mosquito net at the windows would have been nice. The windows are a bit hard to reach, we climbed on the sofa to close/ open them.
very central but quiet location, inside the old town, super accessible for disabled tourists (like my partner) - all rooms are at ground floor, no stairs, large doors, large and comfortable private room, cool in summer, very comfy bed, nice and clean kitchen area with tables, pots, pans, cutlery and cooking utensils. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Lovely bathroom. We also liked that we could leave the luggage in a locker after checkout for the entire afternoon, until our train departure time.

United StatesVery friendly staff. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of Brasov's old-town. The facilities were nice and I was "upgraded" from the larger dorm room to a smaller one which was appreciated.

United StatesNothing in specific. Doesn't provide breakfast, but i think for the price it's acceptable.
Great and safe hostel at the town center. Its at a small alley from Str Michael Weiss. The host/receptionist is great and helpful. The beds are comfy and the bathroom is maintained clean and tidy. The hostel has a silent hour from 10.30pm to 7.30am, so it fits perfectly if you are looking for a good sleep at night. It doesn't include breakfast. But there is a kitchen which you can use if needed. Great value for money.

IsraelAlmost everything. Firstly, they do not have separate rooms for men and women which is strange. They say that men and women live together, but I chose specifically a room shared with 4 women. They said that maybe it's a Booking.com mistake and they need to change this information on a website/ app. Secondly, there is a really strong smell in the hostel. I was also unlucky with my roommates, which is not a hostel's fault, but I was disappointed and could not sleep all night long. Despite a lot of good reviews, I don't recommend this place. It's better to find something else , even if it takes 20 minutes walk to the city centre.
Only a location (city centre) and maybe a receptionist. She is a nice lady, can advice you something but when I refused staying in the hostel one more night, she said that the refund is not possible according to some administrative rules. I think if a guest refuses to stay in a hotel / a hostel because it is a bad place and a guest is disappointed, there must be a refund!

United StatesMaybe I was just unlucky but I didn't meet any fellow cool travelers in the hostel. It was too bad, it could have been a better experience. Most people I met there were probably gonna be working in Braşov. Also the kitchen area has some not too clean smell with it. Don't know if it's from food. It might be a cleanliness issue. That smell is probably the only thing I didn't like in the hostel.
Very good location in a quiet part of the old town. A lot of landmarks are within walking distance, including restaurants, major bus stops, and currency exchanges. It has a kitchen. Also walking distance to a hotel where a direct shuttle service to Otopeni airport picks up. The rooms are cozy and the vibe is pretty decent, with available material for tourism and socializing. No complaints with the bathroom and showers. The Filipino worker there is very helpful and she has ready information to help you get to popular nearby attractions such as Bran and Peleş castles, and even how to get to Sighişoara. Communication was also great. She made my stay fun and very warm, thanks!

RomaniaThe kitchen was placed in the hallway, in front of the dorms, and it had no ventilation. As a consequence, the rooms were smelly (and noisy). The bathrooms had no working ventilation either and they were poorly cleaned.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel was located in the old city center.

United KingdomRoom a little small. Next to kitchen. Other than the smell of cooking the main problem was lack of sleep due to the noise. Some people noisily making breakfast at 5 or 6 am and in kitchen/going to bathroom or working on laptop until 3 or 4 am. Appreciate this is just inconsiderate guests but quiet time supposedly 10 to 7.30?
