Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI don't like the air fresheners in hotels or any of the strong artificial smells, which there was one in the room. The bathroom was tiny, but a very good shower.
The location in the old town while pleasant can be noisy, as it is one of the main party and going-out areas. It's also difficult for taxis and drivers to get there. But I loved that one can open windows properly. It was very clean and had wooden floors and while sumptuous, it felt airy.

CyprusThe lift brings real suffering to all guests with children, strollers, suitcases and disabled. I couldn’t believe that to get on the 1st flour, you need to walk a long staircase up, then another… ride 1 flour and go one more staircase down! This is ridiculous. It is even more annoying that the hotel proclaims “Children of all ages are welcome” with such accessibility! Overpriced for Bucharest. Boutique is exaggeration of course.
Comfy beds, clean rooms, nice breakfast, and location in the old town. The restaurant is cozy.

United KingdomOccasionally the drains in the bathroom gave off an unpleasant odour
Restaurant was excellent both for breakfast and an outstanding evening meal. Location in the Old town was good to access all the local attractions. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel over all was good value for money and I would recommend to other visitors wanting to stay in the Old Town in Bucharest

United KingdomSome of the bathroom tiles are loose, grouting a bit tired, soap holder broken etc - all still perfectly clean but detracts a little from the overall feel.
We stayed one night in an apartment/suite which was perfect for our family of four, separate rooms for the adults and children, with two bathrooms. Rooms were spacious and clean, and beds comfortable. It was also quiet - adults had a room at the front with balcony, on a Friday night - if you open the balcony there was a bit of noise (mostly traffic) but the soundproofing was good. The other room was internal so quieter. Breakfast was very nice - think small European hotel continental style rather than giant buffet, but a good selection with a couple of hot options, and nice staff. Location is handy for Old Town and other areas, good transport links. Yes, some bits nearby are a little sketchy but I would say that is more to do with Old Town and central Bucharest than the hotel itself. We were able to check in a little early, and also leave our luggage at reception after checkout.

CanadaThere are no elevators from the street level to the reception point. One has to pick and climb up with the baggage on his/her own. Not good for elederly or with health condition folks. One has to walk a minimum of 100 meters to pick or come from a cab.
Location, courteous staff.

IsraelThe entrance to the hotel is via some very steep stairs, before the elevator! The hotel is on a pedestrian street so no taxi can get near. Need to walk about 100+ meters.

United KingdomThe breakfast was basic and we waited a long time for the coffee to be made despite us being the only people in the breakfast room. Not real fruit juice and cheap squash from a carton. The hot breakfast foods were luke warm and minimal. The safe didn't work and we asked 3-4 different times to request it be.fixed. They tried to fix it but didn't sort the issue and no apology was made. The staff didn't interact with the guests and make you feel welcome. A friendly good morning etc goes a long way.
The room was clean and comfortable and it was close to lots of restaurants and bars. The room had air conditioning. The room had a full length mirror and wardrobe.
