How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything, this place was more than just your ordinary hostel, Fernando and Carmen the owners provide an authentic hostel experience that makes you feel completely at home. They were extremely personable and felt more like good friends than anything else. They really went the extra mile to help myself and everyone in the hostel. The atmosphere they foster there is one of warmth and good fun. The hostel itself is extremely clean, safe and well equipped with everything you need. Not to mention the prime location as well. Seriously one of the best hostels I've stayed in. If you find yourself in Bucharest this place is a must. Thank you so much for everything Carmen and Fernando!

Great Location, in the middle of the old town, super clean toilet and incredible costumer service from Carmen and Fernando, super friendly and very helpful with any information. I would definitely use this Hostel again if I'm around Bucharest in the future. Everything wad perfectl, I highly recommend.

The noise from the reception area after 10 pm is disturbing.

High quality hostel in the center of Bucharest, probably the best I've been to. Top location, clean and comfortable. The people working there are really helpful and are genuinely happy to talk with you. Top organization and availability. You have to stay there during your stay in Bucharest and next time I'll be around, I will! Florian

The toilet stalls are open from the top.
The hosts were very devoted, made everyone feel super welcome and arranged outings together. There was a sense of walking into a community, probably met 30 people in one weekend. Also, Carmen makes great coffee!

A great hostel. Fernando and Carmen are incredibly nice. It's probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at and the beds are super comfortable. €1 beers for sale. The common room is good for meeting people and the Old Town location is perfect if you're looking to party.

Fantastic hostel right in the middle of the old town. The hosts were fantastic, the facilities were everything you could ask for in a hostel and it was really good value

The property fit all the boxes for me: clean bathroom (they are always cleaning!), strong WIFI in all areas, central location (literally within Old Town), comfortable bed and welcoming staff (the owners, Fernando and Carmen, know everyone by name!)

It was a great experience. The place is great in management and position, just perfect and interactive. Of course you can be on your own if you want to, but you would miss a lot.

The staff made me feel so welcome, and they clean the rooms every day, even in the off season. The amenities are all functional, and the beds are comfortable. This is a great location, and I felt really safe at this hostel as a solo female traveller.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming. As soon as I entered the Hostel they offered me a shot of Vodka and a Beer ,explained to me everything in the hostel, the facilities and other things. The location is Top,at the Old Town of Bucharest and the value of money its more than a Good Deal.

You can´t imagine when you cross the front door, but this Hostel has everything you need for an amazing stay in Bucharest. The location is perfect, just in the middle of Old Town. The room was clean and quiet with a really comfortable mattress. There are plenty of toilets and showers for the whole hostel that ensure you no waiting time in the mornings. But the best thing of the hostel is the staff, Carmen and Fernando are the perfect hosts, always up for a chat and happy to give you the best recommendations of Bucharest to make your travel unforgettable. Can´t wait to come back :)

One of the best sleeps I’ve ever had. Such a quiet and chill hostel and extremely clean. I’ve rebooked for when I’m back in Bucharest at the end of my trip.
