Nice place, close to Danube

The view from the room as it went to the back of the building. Not too bad as I stayed there just for one night, if staying for more then recommendable to get a room with the front view.

Room was nice and clean but had this heavy smell of smoking. Breakfast was excellent although it is not included in the room rate. Location is excellent.

a clean room with cotton sheets overlooking the Danube in a rough area very near the water port and bus and train terminals with a good restaurant. perfect for travellers. nice polite staff.

The water had been shut off for 2-3 hours when we arrived due to a problem with the line. They made us purchase water during that time if we wanted a drink which we did. The beds were incredibly hard and uncomfortable.

It was a convenient location. It had a cute, little balcony and very nice air conditioning. The sink and toilet were quite new.

Old furniture and utilities, the shower cabin was broken, the sliding door got frequently stuck in the closed position. The rooms had poor soundproofing. The staff was helpful, however they were not the friendliest.

Excellent location, close to the train station, to cabs and to the docks. The staff accepted our request to check in one hour after the allowed time based on our request made in the app.

The staff were incompetent or at best not properly trained and in some cases extremely rude, to an extent I hadn’t experienced in Romania since the early post soviet days, when I lived there in 1994. For example, I was screamed at in Romanian when I arrived in reception to check out. Then, the flimsy glass door slammed & I realised what she had shouted at me. When I pointed out that I didn’t speak Romania she shouted at me again “the door” with the same angry look on her face as if I were complete idiot. A little redundant by then to say the least! So I left the keys on the desk & responded with a very sarcastic “we’ve had a wonderful stay”, which I believe went totally over her head but at least felt good to me. Suggestion for management: If you’re not going to replace the very flimsy and no doubt dangerous door with one that doesn’t slam and actually has safety glass, I would suggest you put a warming on the door (in the languages of your guests) or simply install a stopper to avoid the door slamming like that, which is not only potentially dangerous but also a painful sound to be subjected to, which may be why that particular member of staff was driven to behave so rudely. There was one pleasant girl on reception who spoke English but no one else did, which makes this place really stand out in comparison to every other hotel, bar, restaurant, Uber & Bolt driver we have met so far on our 3 week tour of the country. So if you don’t speak Romanian I recommend you anywhere but here, as you’ll be hard pressed un find anywhere less welcoming. The hygiene standards are pretty shocking. On the first morning I woke there, while looking for a hair dryer, I found discarded salami wrappings in the dresser draw. There was no hair dryer. I took a photo to show the staff and left the draw open so the cleaner wouldn’t miss it. I showed the staff but didn’t get much more than a dirty look (as pointed out by 12yo son!).

The location is fantastic. The sound proofing is impressive. The A/C is good. We were given rooms facing the Danube.

Only a very minor gripe, and its very rude of me to travel to Romania, but speak more or less none of the language, and expect people I'm meeting to be able to speak mine! Sadly the receptionist although polite and efficient spoke almost no English, and I had to use google translate to solve the language barrier. This wouldn't put me off staying here again, and I must improve my spoken Romanian to avoid this problem in future!

I arrived off the incoming train, and walked to the Pension which took around five minutes, its reasonably easy to find. The receptionist booked me in, and my room was spacious, comfortable, the right temperature, and there was plenty of hot water for a well needed shower. Superb accommodation and I'd definitely stay again.

We had no water for 3 hours after arrival. The problem was being addressed but they still charged us for bottled water when we no option just to get a drink. We also took the hotels recommendation for a delta cruise. The cruise was unpleasant and we wished we had shopped around instead.

The room was clean and comfortable. It included a mini fridge. The balcony overlooked the river which was very pretty at sunset.

smell in the room and bathroom was unbearable. The floor in the room was dirty. The staff was simply rude. We asked for an extra blanket, the woman in the reception was supposed to bring it to our room, but that didnt happen.

No parking available, there was already car parked in front, but the receptionist was not very helpful in finding a valid solution. The room was incredibly small, balcony was indeed there but koking just like a bigger window, no space to stay outside ( no table/ no chairs) View, was towards the Danube but you should skip the parking area for taxis & the behind the buildings street which laid between the pension and the Danube. The terrace at ground floor with restaurant - I really don't recommend. It was full of individuals which were very loud, drinking , smoking - looked more like a village bar ( and the Romanians know what I mean). The bathroom was Ok-ish if you exclude the fact that the water in the shower bath was not draining properly, so you had to wait if your travel partner was bathing before, or you were first in the shower - otherwise you would cause a flood in the room. No fridge in the room :( very disappointing actually) - extremely small and poor room for this price, for Tulcea. I saw some prices displayed at the first floor and for double room was 150 RON , I payed via Booking 170 RON. The day I left i could take a look in the other rooms , since the cleaning lady was there, and I saw that they were indeed a bit more bigger than my room and with more facilities, including a decent balcony - BUT the overall smell of the old facility + other external factors still would not make me choose this location again,

I spent there only one night and was enough. The main thing I liked was the fact that was close to Danube shore, extremely close to the promenade. Other than that, I would not chose this accomodation for another trip.
