Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

BulgariaSome of the staff did not speak English well, which led to minor communication difficulties. The night shift was not very responsive ... Although the overall cleanliness in the hotel is at a high level, I noticed that in certain places, for example in the bathroom on the hair dryer and around the glasses there is dust ... so they can be pay attention to the small details!
The whole hotel and the room we were staying in were very clean, cozy and bright. The breakfast was great, varied and delicious. We stayed for 2 days, but towels and bath accessories were changed daily. The location is very good too.

Very friendly staff ! Clean and big rooms with everything we needed ! Room 411 was very spacious and tidy ! The blonde receptionist was very friendly, helpful and always smiling ! Breakfast was tasty and various! On our last day we came to eat half an hour before closing and the food was still plenty and fresh ! Free parking :) overall was a great experience and definitely will come back

IrelandThe following are small issues only, minor repairs and updates needed to make it an exceptional stay. Aircon, shower and tiling are dated but fully functional. The whole building is a bit dark and the colour scheme in the rooms is not for everyone. Although we asked for a room with a bathtub we did not get that but we were fine with the shower in the end. Room service only up to 10:30 and not 12:00 PM, possibly because of the pandemic. No chain/latch on the door. On-foot access to the hotel is not great if it rains as the one of the paths gets flooded. There is a gas station right in front of the hotel which makes the entry harder to spot but has a convenience store in case you need anything.
Overall a great experience and very good value for money. Amazing breakfast (the food, the staff and the breakfast terrace are A+), room cleaning service is second to none. Most furniture looks good and is practical (bed has an odd frame). Very good room size and the mattress and pillows are very good, with great quality towels and bedding. Lots of toiletries and proper black-out curtains and it is surprisingly quiet. The Lebanese restaurant is fantastic. They seem to have even more restaurant options but at the time of our stay it seemed that it was delivery only (not for hotel guests). Nice an airy lobby and terraces to enjoy your coffee/ drinks at all times (no milk alternatives). Very helpful staff in general. Good connection to the city, shopping malls, national roads and the airport (bus, cabs). A+ airport pickup service.

RomaniaI arrived at the reception at 21:20 and waited for about 5 minutes until someone showed up. The bathroom is at the level of a two star hotel. Extremely old, cracked tiles, water does not drain properly and remain puddles on the floor. It would have been appropriate to have a mop in the bathroom to wipe the water off the floor. The satisfaction form that I should have filled in on departure was already filled out. Breakfast has changed a lot, but it's ok. Maybe it would have been ok for the service staff to be a little more smiling and friendly. I felt hurried, pushed from behind to pick my food faster and leave.
I returned to Phenicia Grand Hotel, but this time the positive aspects are much less than other times. I mention the good positioning of the hotel and the quiet. The bed is very large and comfortable. And this is where the positive aspects end.
