Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking was not free. Had to pay to park in the lot across the street. The discounted rate expired right at checkout time and we had to pay 40 lei on top of the 20 we already paid to leave.
Nice old hotel with a lot of charm. An old world communist era feel that I can’t get enough of. Beautiful parquet floors, front desk person was friendly

IndiaThe room size was too small, at least they could accommodate a chair for sitting.
Most important is the location of this hotel, at this location it is total value for money.

RomaniaNo reception at the desk after six, according to security. When I got there security had no knowledge of my booking. It was finally figured out but it took about 15 minutes. Parking is not at the hotel but at a hotel across the street, and the parking is a few hundred meters away, which in the rain, with luggage, is not a pleasant walk. You also have to go to that hotel to validate the parking, though you pay at the hotel you booked. The room was cold. When I arrived there around 7 PM, the heaters were on, but around 10 they got cold and stayed cold, and the room got so cold that my head was hurting. There is no noise isolation. Noise from above when people are walking, noise from the hallway and especially noise from the road, as my room was facing the main road. The windows provide no noise isolation at all. I was happy that it was rainy outside, otherwise, being a turistic city, noise from people on the street would have been terrible as well. The room was not clean, inside the drawers of the desk there were two empty beer cans.
The bed was comfortable. The Hotel is in the center of Sinaia, which makes it close to different place to visit. Also close to restaurants in the area.

United StatesSmall bathroom, no shower curtain, asked for 2 beds, got a joined one (we separated them, but I expected that to happen before we arrived). There was no free parking, we were not told. Last day we were charged with the parking fee for the stay which we did not know about.
right on the principal road, in the city center, noise from downstairs restaurants and passersby.

CanadaDue to the central location, it gets loud outside. Hotel is 2 stars and it shows, basic furniture, rooms would need a good renovation. Bathroom is very small but was fine for our needs. Fixtures all very old. A 1-2 day stay is fine. Price isn't justified.
Location is great if you want to be close to the action - patios, park, shopping. Staff was nice. Comfortable beds and clean linens. Bathroom had soaps, bath gels, hair dryer. New slippers in the closet and sewing kit are a nice touch.

RomaniaThe bathroom was very small and the shower even smaller. There was no hairdryer in the room, but you can request one from reception. There is also no air conditioning. If the room faces the street, there is a lot of noise in the summer due to the restaurants below and the one across the street.
The location was excellent as the hotel is close to the railway, the park and the shopping centre. The room was decent, large enough, with sturdy furniture, a refrigerator and an electric kettle. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always at your service. Complimentary tea and instant coffee were served daily.

South AfricaThe walls at the hotel are quite thin, therefore you could hear everything and it was a bit of struggle to fall asleep. I do understand the building is old and that could be the reason.
The hotel was situated right in the heart of the city, was very easy to visit tourist attractions and have access to restaurants.

RomaniaThe bathroom was very small. We traveled with a 2 year old child and, for the bath, we barely squeezed in the shower, wich was something like a square. The toilet was very close to the door and you have very small room for feet. It was clean, the fridge in our room was very old. It did the job, but if you opened it you can see that wasn't very new, not even like from 5-10 years, but older.
It is right in the center of Sinaia, near the park.
