Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe room was not clean, the kitchen was incomplete - why bother to create one if it is not equiped. There was a bad smell comming from the barhroom, I think it was due to the fact that the city sewer sistem if bad, it smelled in other parts of the city also. The walls were so thin that yoi could hear the footsteps of the neighbor like it was next to you. If you can not sleep because of trafic you should not book here, it is closed to main boulevards and the noise from the cars is loud.
Parking space and staff ok.

The duvet have stains and not very good smell. If you want to stay in the hotel get yours a towels, toilet paper and bed clothes.
It is in the centre, on foot distance to landmarks of the city. There are a free parking. The rooms are bigger enough.

MexicoIt’s very dirty from outside and the rooms are ok with the cleanliness. If you have a lot of suitcases or heavy inform the owner in advance to give you a room down as the stair ase is horrible and you have to carry everything on the way up. Also in the information before booking there is no clarification what time is check in and I had to send message to the owner which he never replied and we ended up in the location at 9 am and the check in was at 4, after a long train ride you just want to rest a little bit and shower, we had to go to explore city for 7 hours until the room was clean. Not a really good experience, thank God we only stayed one night. Plus the bolt driver told us the location was dangerous.
The location is good and the room is spacious.

SwedenI booked a room that looked ok in the pictures, but the sheets were dirty, the lights didn't work in the bedroom, there were no cutlery or anything at all that you could cook with, this is what i booked for. sometimes the parking lot was full so I couldn't park. wifi didn't work. I booked another hotel in another city, I couldn't be there. you barely made it to the top floor with my suitcase as it was very crowded. This was the worst accommodation I have encountered for all categories. I would really like my money back!!!!
the area was ok, no break-ins in the rental car anyway

LatviaYou cannot expect much for such price but condition of this place was really poor. Living room was smelly, many things were broken. Not to mention the fact that some fundamental things such as soap, towels or shampoo were not available (guess I have to be grateful that there was toilet paper).

UkraineIt is necessary to replace the plumbing in the shower and pick up a good floor cleaner. Some textile details of the interior (a sofa in the kitchen, a bedspread) need to be replaced or repaired as they were burned by cigarettes from previous guests
The room is located near the train station. It has 3 comfortable double beds and a small sofa in the kitchen. There are two toilets and a shower. There is a washing machine and an electric stove where you can cook food. Very warm, there are hot floor, heating and air conditioning. The staff are attentive and friendly like in a 5 star hotel. The small size of the rooms compensates for the pleasant attitude and the possibility of communication 24/7.

RomaniaAparthotel was under construction. Access to the upper floors was done through a very tight staircase. (Maybe half a meter wide). I could barely bring up my luggage. The sheets were not clean when we arrived. There were spider webs on the lights and I also found a small cockroach ( it was dead). Also, heating was a problem. The thermostat was installed in room number 10, but it commanded the heating for room 10 and 9. So if someone in room 10 was opening the window, the people in room 9 would be melted by the heat. However, we managed to close the heaters. The problem was at night. People from room 10 had their temperature under control whilst we were chilling. As I've already mentioned, the building was undergoing maintenance. This meant the builders were up and down the stairs all the time, and the staircase was full of dust and debris. All this led to the fact that we were unable to keep the room clean, because we were constantly dragging in dust and so on. Hence, we couldn't walk around the apartment without our shoes on. Luckily we were away most of the day, but if we were to try to nap or something, at noon, I would imagine we couldn't have been able due to the noise of the machines from maintenance. Wouldn't go again. The only good thing is the staff, which is friendly and the fact that it's dirt cheap.

Romania- Situated in an old area of the city; - TV is not smart so you cannot watch Netflix or attach a laptop and watch a movie (it would need a HDMI cable) - it was missing glasses completely in the kitchen - we had only 1 set of towels for 2 persons
The apart was big and windows were good for isolating the exterior sound - comfortable bed - easy communication with the host

MontenegroThe check in was not great. It has kind of self check in, but you don't t receive the instructions in the reservation, so if you can't call to the owner, avoid that option. The room wasn't really clean. In 2 person room there was only one set of towels. Also the furniture is in bad state. The table flipped when I put the dish on it. And it smells in and near apartments.
The location allows you to go to the center of the city by foot.
