Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandIt was fine. But to be 5 stars you need that something extra and here it needed more.

Romania- overall very good, just small details that were not quite perfect like the shower hanger a bit wobbling, the room a bit too dark...things that maybe in a 5 star hotel should not be seen...But again, I might be neat picking.
- the overall architecture, theme, feeling and comfort! Gorgeous! Perfect for couples 💑 - amazing bed. Felt like a fluffy cloud - kind and helpful staff - good variety of breakfast - cosy restaurant terrace

Nice location on a hill close to Carol I garden. From the balcony the view over Bucharest and the parliament palace is very good. Lovely staff and very clean. Comfy beds. Restaurant offering tasty food. Beautiful architecture with Brancoveneanu stile features.

United Arab EmiratesThe breakfast needs improvement. We expected a luxury buffet, but it was only a table with Croissants and some cereals. The rest is a la cart from a small menu.
Its a luxury stay, the Signature Suite is so amazing and unique. the staff were very kind and courteous. It’s one of the best hotels we’ve been to.

RomaniaNothing, we had a great time.
As a local, I was looking for a nice stay in the city and this place really blew my mind. The rooms are very tastefully furbished and one could easily imagine themselves as guests of an actual boyar/aristocrat family residing in this updated 1900s-era type townhouse, despite it actually being a business in modern days. This feeling is not even limited to just the rooms, but even the restaurant shares it, the high-rise view from the balcony, the classy staircase and the garden where people get to mingle waiting to see a Gatsby-like persona emerging to start the festivities. To my mind, this is what differentiates it from all other 5-star stays in the city: it's not just a franchise painted on a building that shares the look with countless others in the city or the world. No, instead it was actually build as a high-status home for a timey architect that helped design parts of the city. Moreover, the staff is super polite and discreet, even the other guests, so it just adds to the chic nature of it all. Great getaway, hidden gem!

SpainI had high expectations for celebrating New Year's Eve at Suter Palace, considering I've been a loyal customer with at least 20 stays under my belt. However, this experience has left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. Upon arrival, I informed the reception staff about my intention to make a full payment, covering all expenses, including the ordered food, upon checkout. The check-in process went smoothly, and we were handed the door key with all necessary information. Little did I know that this seemingly seamless beginning would spiral into a nightmarish experience. The trouble began when we requested the restaurant bill to be added to our room expenses. The receptionist on shift, who had initially agreed to this arrangement during check-in, suddenly turned rude and claimed it wasn't possible. This was at 2 AM during the New Year celebration, and tensions escalated quickly. Despite our prior agreement, the receptionist insisted that the room and restaurant bills had to be paid separately, threatening to deny us our confirmed booking if we didn't comply. Reluctantly, we paid for the room at 2 AM, as we were coerced into doing so to avoid losing our reservation, completely contradicting the terms agreed upon during check-in. This unexpected and unwarranted behavior marred what was supposed to be a special New Year's celebration. I've never encountered such unprofessionalism in my previous visits to this hotel, and it's disheartening to see the standard of service decline so drastically. For a hotel that I considered my go-to for special occasions, this experience has left a sour taste. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards ensuring such incidents don't recur, especially during festive celebrations. It appears that the experienced and polite staff, who were once the hallmark of this establishment, have been replaced with more budget-friendly alternatives.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the room was next to the restaurant, and they had some sort of party going on. We couldn't get much sleep that night as it was too noisy. That's the one thing you expect to get when booking a hotel room: sleep! They shouldn't allow bookings for that room when they have events in the restaurant. Also, the bed's headboard was dusty. I didn't think I would find that in a 5 star hotel. The rest of the room seemed clean.
Stunning hotel, amazing room, great views, great breakfast, friendly staff, valet parking. Within walking distance from the Palace of Parlament. The bed was really comfy, and the balcony was larger than some hotel rooms I've been in in the past.

NetherlandsMy room was on the ground floor and at first I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my window open at night, personally the pillows weren’t comfortable (too soft). What did disappoint me a bit was the gym, it isn’t a gym, just a room with two machines, my suggestion would be to completely take it out of the equation.
The property looks like a mansion rather than a hotel and is gorgeous when you walk inside. Old style and classic interior.

United KingdomWhen we arrived the room was at 26°, we tried to turn the AC on which could not be changed from the heat setting. When we called for service the man who came apologised but told us we had to turn off the radiators and open the windows. The AC only warmed the room??. For the price of the room we also found that the mini bar was not complimentary. Surprising when you are paying £257 per night. It was my fiancées birthday which was the reason for paying the extra. There was also no milk to go with the coffee machine and no hairdryer in the room. I think its reasonable to expect these kind of things when the cost of the room is was it is.
The room itself, the romantic suite, was beautiful with a lovely view of Bucharest.

RomaniaBreakfast was horrible. It would have been great for a 2 star hotel. All tea cups were dirty. Food was incredible low quality. If you have a room on the second floor, you will spend half of your stay in the elevator. That elevator is terrible. Mediocre finishings.
