Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

ItalyThe fact that the owner did not reply to my message on booking, let us arrive at the address advertised in the ad and only when we tried to call numerous times told us, via text, that we were going to have to stay at another apartment 14 mins away from the advertised location. The apartment itself was okay, but it had a smell and the light sockets were hanging very dangerously.

Netherlands-In the apartment, broken glass in the bathroom, missing shower door, broken closet door, broken sink faucet, broken lock on the front door. The hot water leaked from time to time. Cockroaches as a bonus. -Complicated communication with the owner, who was not able to give the correct code from the key and even gave my key to another guest. She tried to convince me that this guest was a cleaner. After an hour of standing in front of the house and having the key taken away by another guest, I contacted Booking. After that the owner was very upset, yelled at me on the phone (she hadn't answered the phone until then) and texted me an inappropriate message. In the description she had wrong information about check in and instead of apologizing, she was upset that I didn't follow the instructions that weren't there.

RomaniaThe sink was leaking. There where some places that weren’t very clean (shower cabin, kitchen). In the room persisted a strange smell, but it was not that upsetting once you open the window. Unfortunately we were not able to find the AC remote, and when we wrote to the owner we were left in seen.
The location was very nice and the way to get in posesion of the keys for the apartment was very quick and easy.

GreeceWe found a cockroach in the bathroom and another dead one in the wardrobe. The toilet 🚽 was not screwed on the floor so it was not stable at all..... The guest also left us towels for one person while preparing the bed for 2 as we were, but I guess that's an honest mistake. Lastly we had to wait around 20-30 mins late at night outside of the building, for the host to answer our texts and calls and provide us the necessary instructions in order to get in the building. Furthermore the did not block the sun, so we woke super early.
It was relatively centrally located. Simple room with an A/C. The building was quiet and safe.

The property was rubbish, nothing of the things mentioned was there. No internet, the router they sent later was broken. No cooking utensils, not even a knife. Very dirty. Especially the bathrooms. No electricity in the bathroom to connect the washing machine. The property management is very irresponsive. The check-in was late due no not responsive of the property management. You simply will be ignored once you check-in. It is rubbish in all aspect. Also the worst is that the booking.com support centre never responded to me. Simply I will never use booking.com.

ATTENZIONE WARNING ATENCIÓN 気をつけて ATTENTION. be careful, the house is not where the owner wants you to believe, he will not respond to your messages. when I arrived, I had a shock, the house is not the one in the photos, I found the floor very dirty, the bed dirty, and even cigarettes in the microwave, there is none of the services that are indicated, not even a hairdryer. it was a scam, and the owner doesn't want to give me a full refund.

SloveniaWe arrived at the location 11 pm. After being declined on WhatsApp call we just got a new location, where we had to go and instructions, how to get in. The apartment they sent us to, was not the same as the one on the pictures. The second building was being renovated and looked like you will get kidnapped. The lights in the building didn’t work. After going up the stairs there were two spaces which looked like someone could be waiting for you. The apartment had small spaces everywhere where someone could hide in. The ventilation in the bathroom was very loud and it stanked. There was no warm water. We did not feel safe at all.

RomaniaThe apartment building is old and definitely neglected, the setting of the apartment itself is confusing.The elevator is the stuff of nightmares. The door lock looked trashed, wasn't safe at all. When we came inside, the first thing that stood out to me it was the smell ( it was stale). There were bugs running around and ants in the so called "kitchenette". The furniture was destroyed, the bed didn't have a proper sheet. We didn't even entered the bathroom...it looked dirty. The whole atmosphere was unsettling. We left the place immediately. A big scam. The guy renting this apartment was not responding at all. When we were met with the problem of not finding the apartment he didn't even opened the messages.

The soap was not new and it was clearly used.There are no hangers for clothes in the closet. The toilet and soul smells very dirty and bad.A knife for products is broken.Repair is terrible and old.
