Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceEverything was ok.
It has the best location in the city, between Piata Unirii and Universitate so it's close to the old town without all that buzz. Actually I returned to the place for my last night in Bucharest, after visiting near countries. The hostel is a liitle bit run as a collectiva but has the amenities needed for a typical traveller. Moreover the hostel kept me a lower bed as I had asked for. Great for them.

United StatesThe place isn't a hotel, and it's definitely worth the price, if you want to a spend a night in Bucharest downtown on a budget. Regardless, these are some points to keep in mind when staying here: - Low ceiling in the room (take note, tall guests) - This room did not have a private bathroom, and the two common bathrooms were on two different floors. - The staircases and corridors are very narrow and tight. It was a little hard to carry our suitcases up and down through those passages, praying that we didn't slip and fall in the process. - The entrance to the place is through a outdoor bar lounge, where there are people drinking and smoking. Although no one bothered us, I would've liked to draw less attention when spending the night there.
It's a hole in the wall place, but the room was just right for us! It was quiet, had enough space for two of us to spend two nights and comfortable enough for us. It's an great deal for the price. Pros: - Very good communication by the host. We were running late, and so we called ahead and informed the host of our late arrival time. He was very cool and accommodating. - Well-connected location, very close to bus and light rail lines. - The room was a corner room on the top floor, so it felt more like an attic space. But it was cozy and comfortable. There were some nice decorations on the walls and ceiling. - One of the bathrooms was a giant king-size one with a big tub! So big that you could host a party in there. It felt luxurious. - Although the area has limited street parking (and it's hard to find one), there is some free public parking a short distance away, which was very useful for us.

CanadaThe kitchen needs a tad more space & countertop. Since there's no common room you must use your bed for internetting, EM, reading, etc. There was no stove, toaster, nor kettle, & no clothes dryer.
Prodigious location & value per Ron/Lei! Very interesting/travelled clientele who help one negotiate this artistic oasis. The kitchen has a working m-w, filter coffee pot, fridge, dishes/cutlery, & washing machine.. Easy single bus ride to National Opera/Ballet, Romanie Filarmonia, & Univ. of BUC School of Music Recital Hall. with world class artists. I saw their premiere of "Phantom of the Opera," & it was tight/moving! The Filarmonia & Music School have soloists comparable to any of the world's "bolshoi/big" stages! Best Value Meal: "Kebab Mania" is en route > National Opera/Ballet & has Nepalese staff who prepare a "schwarma" for 10 Lei! Cheap like borscht, & delicious like borscht! Bravi, brava, bravo!

United StatesIt's a very cheap hostel so don't expect a 5 star hotel experience.
The location of the hostel is great. It's a short walk to the old town and there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. The bar connected to the hostel is cheap and the noise isn't too much.

Francekind and warmful, always keen to help, the staff makes you lenghten the stay there!! atmosphere is great : the landlord is full of spirit and fan of music, all kinds, all epocas... he runs his bar there : where you can meet local peoples around both good music and drinks, and be sure the quietness is under his legitimate control ; though being very pikky about the silence of my sleeping, I enjoyed both good times and nights there. nearby a major subway stations, groceries, bakeries, coffe shops.

LatviaAll. The room was dirty before we arrived, the bath was broken, windows were dirty, I have a lot of pictures of this “fun” house. The photo that was when I booked do not match with the real photo… This palace is not save for the kids and children and not even for adults!
I didn’t like it at all!!!! I hate this palace and I will tell everyone that I know to not go there!!!!
