How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Clean; domestic, very responsive host, advised on taxi/transportation. From main Bus/Train station: 20 min walk - suitable if travel alone/with no kids & no large baggage. Ab. 5 min walk to Theater (SNP). Old piano in the corridor :D

Great location, very nice service, owner Marko is the best. There was a storm in New Sad, and he gave us his own garage to save our cars. The best option to visit Town

Marko met us outside for an easy check-in... due to our later evening arrival. He is awesome ! He let us use his laptop because our phones had been stolen. Great location to the bus/train station. Easy walk to the castle and the Danube. Good value for money. I doubt you will find a friendlier host. I highly recommend staying here !! He even arranged a car to drive us to the airport in Belgrade. He does it all !!

There is hardly ever anyone at reception even for check in and check out. Check in was done over the phone which is a little complicated and impersonal. Staff are responsive to text messages, but if you’re wanting a warm welcome to the city and friendly advice when traveling, this place isn’t really set up for it.

The location is awesome, it’s a five minute walk to the centre of the city. The rooms are spacious and clean! Beautiful smell of clean laundry! The owner is a cool guy, really helpful and nice, the kind of person you would want to spend some time with, to discuss about the touristic objectives nearby, hobbies, etc.

Maybe it would be nice to add a normal chair, on which it would be convenient to work at the table in the room.
I stayed in a private room for one night. The owner of Terasa Hostel is a very kind, helpful and hospitable person - he explained and showed me everything in detail. The room may seem empty, but if you do not have high expectations of the room (as a 5 star hotel), you will definitely like it there. Clean room, clean bed, toilet with underfloor heating.

Small towels (hand size) fridge in kitchen didn't work. It's a hostel but better to eat out, not much equipment for cooking and fast food very cheap there. We stayed another night so was fine! Communal outdoors area needs making nicer but think he's on with it.
Perfect location in the lovely old town, but quiet. Building work internally going on, will be nice when finished. Room was really modern and warm with.a great bathroom.

The hostel is in great central location. Very clean rooms and each room has it’s own private bathroom. The owner and manager Marko is very hospitable and is putting a lot of thought and care into this place, and it shows. Even small things, like multiple electrical outlets near each bed. Highly recommended!

The kitchen supplies are lacking, mostly pots, pans, etc. Cooking is managable, but not too easy to pull off. Still, it's important to note that the place is being renovated at the moment, so this is likely to change in the near future. This is literally THE ONLY PROBLEM, and the owner is aware of it and has stated that the renovation process includes that overhaul as well.
The owner is very polite and fun, helps with everything and is more than happy to help and make compromises. There is enough space for everything and it really feels like home at times. Everything is clean and neat, and even the non-renovated parts of the hostel are more than good for the price. Would 11/10 recommend to NGOs and businesses for teambuilding/strategic meetings. The new part od the hostel is so good that it doesn't even make sense to call it a hostel, it's much more closer to a hotel/resort.
