Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYou can see inside and outside through the gap between the door and the doorframe. (privacy?) That's a bit awkward. The pressure in the shower was rather weak. Either too weak or too thin, depending on the showerhead setting. Also, when brushing teeth, the water tasted & smelled like from a well, but water in the cooler was alright. There was constant background noise, probably from the vent even when the aircon was off. It was a bit annoying before falling asleep. A very reasonably priced noise-cancelling device for vent-ways from Leroy Merlin, for instance, can easily solve that issue and may be used even for several rooms in a row. It'll make a positive difference in sleep comfort. I'm sure something can be done with water pressure & filtering system too. Even though nobody really looks through the door gaps, it'll make the room more comfortable if there will be no see-through gaps. It'll help reduce the corridor noises too.
It was genuinely a solid 3-star hotel. The room wasn't large or too fancy, yet convenient & cosy enough. in a bathroom, everything was in the right place and the shower cabin was rather large, that's nice. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. The sheets & towels were clean & fresh, nothing felt too old and overused. All of the staff that we came in contact with were very polite, helpful, professional & humourous. We love that! Also, the view from the window was lovely. We even took some photos :)

GermanyWi-Fi requires text message verification and it doesn't work with non-Russian numbers. Even if you get through you'll have to install root SSL certificate to start browsing the Internet. I had to go to a cafe nearby to do my remote office activities. The characteristic red-brick façade of the hotel building was once a part of ensemble of this neighbourhood of Nizhniy Novgorod. "Was" because now it is plastered away, because Ibis wants to maintain a certain look of their property. Unfortunate.
Very good Ibis just like any other. Nice clean room and a good view on the inner garden on top floors. Thumbs up for a free for all kicker table at reception area.

Russia- Not so clean, there’re some dirty dots on walls - Lobby was always busy by drunk people in the evening
- Good room with comfort bed and table where you can work - Convenient location to the city center - Quick check in and check out - Every day cleaning

MaltaVery friendly cleaning staff and a great location
No social distancing, the elevator has a sign that only one person should be in it at all times but this is not enforced at all by the staff, there could be 4-6 people at any given time IN the elevator which is right in front of the reception desk

RussiaFar from everything interesting in the city. The hotel said they didn’t receive my booking through Booking.com and nearly declined me a room late at night. Finally gave me a tiny room with 3 separate small beds, was super uncomfortable
Generally good breakfast

RussiaLocation: this is almost a downtown, but if you are travelling by car, then this place is not very friendly: parking for 8 cars and you can’t park a car next to a hotel to take your luggage off. Reception: young girls don’t care about client’s experience. One day early morning I was in my car trying to set off from parking lot, but security refused opening the gate because I have to pay for something. Explanation that I’m staying here for a week and all my belongings are in a hotel did not help. Extra call to reception didn’t help, so I had to run to reception to find out what is wrong. Receptionist asked my license plate number and just told: Oh, that’s you: you can drive. No excuses at all. And I was late for 20 mins. Talked to General manager after and he promised to address this issue. Finally: pillows in the room: they are awful. If you need one, you better take one with you.
Hello everyone As a frequent traveller I used to stay in Ibis and other Accor hotels in Europe, so that is why I had clear expectations before this trip.

RussiaI booked that hotel for the family / 2 kids (8+12) 2 (TWO) month in advance to find out after arrival that there was no family room available After 400 km driving (6h) it was really awful to wait 1 h for receiving an alternative (2 single rooms instead of booked family room) + as compensation breakfast was offered.
