How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Two things i would like to point out. Free shuttle bus had two different parking areas, it would be great if driver or any other staff let people know if they are going to be picked up at the same bus stop or the other one. It happened to me once they dropped me off at different bus stop which they did not use a day before so when i was coming back i went to that bus stop which i was picked up day before no one came to pick me up so i ended up calling hotel and lady told me pick up point is now near Alshahada hotel . So i managed to walk back all the way down to find it. Just a bit more communication can resolve this issue in future. But overall my experience being a single woman first time in Makkah staying at this hotel was great .
Reception Staff was very helpful and speaks English as-well which was a great advantage. They helped me in checkin earlier , they very respectful and professional. I was solo female traveller. They provided 24 hours free shuttle bus to and from Haram.

Since there were very less guests most of caffes were closed
Amazing. This hotel is amazing. It was beyond my expectations. I paid very less money , hotel building reception lobbies lounges everything was super neat and clean. And best part was staff was very nice. They didn’t even asked for review. Only purpose i am doing this review is to help fellow Ummrah and Hajj pilgrims to find a nice decent accommodation in very reasonable price

Location. You have to wait for bus to go and come back from Haram. Needs more buses.
Very clean. Staff is very polite and helpful. Food is very delicious. I rate it as number one bufft in Mecca.

The hair dryer power is very weak
The staff are very helpful. The lady at the 5pm shift tower 4 went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. I think my trip was great because of her.

The hotel is really nice and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Shuttle bus service is always available which made going to haram really easy. Will definitely come back again.

Nothing. Excellent property.
Amazing breakfast! Good and wide variety 👍 Excellent staff all round, especially Memonaa and Fatima at the breakfast check in. They were friendly, entertaining and always engaging! Everyone was very attentive to details and regularly checked in to see everything was okay for us. Although the location was a bit further from the Haram compared to some of the other hotels, there were regular shuttle buses running 24hrs and it was about 10 - 15 mins back to the hotel. Spacious rooms compared to other hotels in the Haram with well designed rooms, clean and new. Overall we loved our stay, and will always be coming back to Voco whenever we stay in Makkah.

Although the room had adequate space, there was no table. That made it a bit difficult to eat in the room. Also, service in the hotel's cafe is very slow.
Overall good stay. Breakfast and room service were ok. Also, shuttle service to and from Haram is convenient. Would consider stay again in the future.

The only thing is the smoking. It's sad that many people smoke in Makkah, it's the only downside of makkah. Nothing which the hotel can do much about. But it's the same outside most hotels in makkah.
Everything in this hotel was amazing. I am a tour operator and came to visit to seek out possible hotels for my groups to stay. The checkin was exceptionally well, super quick and friendly. They were willing to speak and answer all questions, and most importantly I didn't feel rushed. The cleanliness of the hotel is superb. Daily house keeping and really friendly staff. They stock up the waters, tea etc very generously (which was especially needed in the hot heat of may) There was hardly any wait time for elevators, they had lots and they were super quick too. Breakfast has a wide variety, excellent start for a day. The free shuttle service is a must in this heat. Very quick and effective. There is a mini mall in the lg floor of the hotel, decently priced, great for groceries and also a barber. They even let me have a slight late check out - once again brilliant all round.

Just a location its a little bit far from haram but the have the shuttle bus service thats really good almost every 15 mints the bus is leaving for haram so not soo bad
