Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNot much choice on the menu. Breakfast was average and pretty much the same stuff recycled over the week. The accommodation was quite expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, there are not may choices in Honiara.
IT support was great when wi-fi did not work.

United StatesThe price is a bit steep considering what other accommodations in the area are charging, but we didn’t get a chance to check them out.
Excellent location located within easy walking distance of the museum, port and many businesses including a great restaurant next door for breakfast or lunch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. And the grounds are quite pleasant.

New ZealandI had two friends for lunch and we found the service rather slow.
The breakfast provided a great choice. I appreciated the friendly and highly efficient service of the staff. They went out of their way to help me when my ongoing flight was cancelled.

DenmarkThe Heritage hotel was the old governor house...but renovation was so intense, that I could not recognize any old parts from the old building. price is expensive for the general/ amount services available if we compare with other Asia countries.., but everything is expensive in Honiara ( logistic costs etc)
The Heritage hotel is located in the sea front. In Honiara, the sea front is not very appealing for swimming. Heritage hotel has a beautiful garden with frangipane trees and many birds. Rooms were facing the ocean. Beautiful decoration in the room, including fresh flowers. The hotel is walking distance from all attractions: central market, post office, catolic church... Continental buffet breakfast with good selection of food and drinks ( considering the difficulties to ship any products to Solomon islands).

New ZealandIt would be great if the hotel could clean up the neighboring little beach near the pool. It's only small but covered in plastic bottles. I also wonder if instead of offering free plastic bottles of water, you could do a glass jug instead. Thanks for considering this!
Excellent service, friendly staff and meticulous rooms. Loved the pool too! So great to relax and cool off after a busy day.

AustraliaI'm being tough here because the hotel aspires to international excellence. The things that I found most irritating in that regard were the breakfast, which was pricy but really not very good - it had a selection of food, but very little in the way of local fresh produce of the sort that we saw at market stalls elsewhere in the Solomons, or little in the way of classy international food. For example, for cereals, the options were corn flakes and stale fruit loops. There was a toaster, but no bread (there were pastries though). The general effect was that it was presented by a crew that knew they should provide a range of options, but weren't talking to the customers about what they really wanted. The other thing that bugged me might seem a little thing, but I think it matters. The TV channels available were a weird hodge podge of Asian-oriented material, with some news from Australia. There was little from the Pacific. I asked two separate staff members at Reception how I could watch Solomon TTV, the local free top air network, so that I could see the local news, but neither could tell me or followed it up for me. There was a magnificent cricket match (1st Ashes test) being played, but the sports channel showed an obscure 20/20 game instead. Overall, it just seemed like a limp effort at doing something appropriate for the many Austro-Pacific guests at the hotel.
Running a hotel in Honiara must be tough. Frequent power failures, terrible Internet connection due to a damaged undersea cable, difficult logistics and high supply prices. So to find a comfortable, reasonably classy, and friendly place is great. There is much to like about this hotel. The dinners (poolside and in restaurant) ranged from reasonable to excellent - in my case it ranged from an average pizza, to a good burger, to a brilliant chicken curry. The bed was comfortable, and the facilities okay although it was impossible to get really warm water - there appeared to be a solar booster system, but it didn't do anything.
