Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaQuite dark rooms, description is a bit misleading (no real beach villas, but several apartments in one building, no separate bedroom), personnel could be more accommodating
Great location opposite beautiful Anse Severe Beach, walking distance to La Passe, well- equipped apartment, price ok for La Digue

DenmarkThe beach villa is no closer to the beach than a normal villa. No direct and clear beach view from the terrasse.
Ok size villas. Close to a nice beach where you can snorkle and get some drinks and lunch. Free bottle water in the villas. Walking distance to restaurants. To the left of the harbour which has the best vibe in my view.

South KoreaExcellent villas. Anse Severe beach is right out the front door, the town is a short walk or a quick bike ride. We felt extremely comfortable and safe here. The porch is large and great for waking ip or winding down after a day of exploring La Digue. Big thanks to the host and staff for making everything convenient with transfers to and from the jetty, solid bicycles, and free water in the rooms (no need to stock up on bottled water!)

GermanyOne of the nicest beaches of the island just across the paths. Every night we had a nice and different sun set. A big turtle living in the area right outside hotel garden. Nice garden and terrace. Well equipped kitchen.

AustriaThis was my second stay at this property. Though normally quiet, this time there was a lot of noise from a neighbor's cow. The owner tethered the cow right next to the villas, and it mooed incessantly. It was not possible to rest during the day. One day the cow started its noise at 6:30. Then, on two occasions, there was some kind of pounding in the night.
The location is far from the town and therefore quieter. The villa was spacious, and reasonably clean. The management is very helpful.

SpainThe best is the location, just crossing the street you found the sea. Also the garden Were you park the bikes is very nice too. It’s a two storages building, 4 villas ground floor and 4 other above, but you never feel crowded, which is great. For me is the best area to stay in la Digue because you are in an amazing beach, were we had amazing snorkeling sessions, and you also have lots of really nice beach bars (cocktails and natural juices, and some food also). Very close to the port too. They picked up from the ferry (10€/room) and the rent their bikes there too, which is the best way to move around the island. The best restaurants and takeaways are also close, so it’s also nice to bring some food and eat at terrace. Very comfy bed too!

South AfricaFor me, this was the best place to stay in La Digue. Location could not have been better. Directly on a beautiful beach (perfect for snorkling) and well protected from the wind. A few cute beach bars along the way to get fresh juice, a snack or fruits and the afternoon cocktail or sundowners.

SwitzerlandI don’t know why, but initially I thought I booked a beachside cottage which surprisingly was not the case. The photos of the place here might be slightly confusing. Indeed those self-service apartments are just in front of the beach where you have some bars and an amazing sunset spectacle each evening but still you have to go out through the gate and cross the street, which can be busy sometimes as for Seychelles. The apartment itself was in a bigger villa with a few apartments and a reception and was not well sound isolated so we could hear noises (especially in the early morning) from our neighbours or the backyard. Inside it was little too dark for me, a bit “depressive”, independently of the time of the day you would have to switch on the lights to see well anything. This darkness maybe allows to protect from the heat but does not influence the ambiance and pleasure of staying at the place. The toilet smelled. Drinkable water in the room was at an extra charge which would make sense if we were not in a situation of starting with an almost empty container given that the first container is included in the price … It is possible to order breakfasts at the terrace of your room, however they’re not good value to price and they’re not healthy nor local. The set includes instant coffee, “industrial” fruit juice, toast bread etc. the only local elements would be fruits or eggs … Given that I had to be very careful about my health during our stay thus ingredients and compositions of the meals, we had to cancel the breakfast option, however normally you are required to order and pay for the full stay.
I really liked that the apartment we got was very spacious and just in front of an amazing beach. Sunsets were stunning every evening, the bars at the beach were really nice, there was a “resident turtle” next to the place. In the room we had an air conditioning and a fan, so we could cool down after a long, hot day. There was also a possibility to order Thai food delivery at the place. The staff was very kind and helpful.

PolandAfter check out still possible to take a shower, but a lady from the reception refused to give us towels and shower gel. Hard to take a shower and wash your hair without towel... It spoiled a bit our overall positive experience with this place.
Newly renovated apartment with balcony and view on the garden and beach. Spacious, well-equiped, close to the beautiful beach with few spots for great juices! 2 sweet turtles hanging out here and there - awesome!

AustriaComfortable small villa, just right for me. It's easy to get around with a rental bike, arranged right there on the property. I forgot to get the name of the lady who took care of everything, she is great! And it was a real treat to have a good amount of bottled water provided upon arrival.

IsraelThere was no air-conditioning in the room, and it was a bit hot in some of the nights.
The room was super clean, large, with all the needed facilities for chilling and cooking. It was literally on the beach and there was a nice atmosphere in the venue.
