Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomChoice of food, same choices every day so a change of menu would have made us eat in the hotel more often. This could be because the hotel is small so it is a trade off between a small friendly hotel and a larger perhaps more formal (and expensive) one. No open restaurants within close proximity that I saw.
Cleanliness, beach, room, view from room, pool. Staff very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

United StatesMy only real complaint is that checkout should have been better. It took quite a while to tally up the various bills and this could have been done ahead of time as it's not like the hotel doesn't know when we are leaving. Give yourself 25m of extra time to do this. Also there was a cash deposit for the beach towels which I had to remind them to return to me, and that took a while (its a new process for them, so I understand it can take some time to work out the kinks, but something to think about). I think they could add a few minor improvements to the room to make it even nicer: a drying rack on the balcony for towels / swimsuits, and replace the fluorescent lighting with something warmer. Wifi could also be improved.
The staff at Crown Beach is really excellent - everyone is very friendly and personable, and you feel very welcome visiting. The rooms was large and well furnished with a very large balcony. Housekeeping did a great job, and was very fast. AC was also very good. Parking was mostly easy though it can be a little tight at times. Dinner is also quite good (as is breakfast though it is the same every day). We quite liked the area where the hotel was located - the beach it is on is only OK, but you're a short drive from Anse Royal which is really lovely. There is also a convenient grocery store just across the street.

SwitzerlandThe property needs some upgrades like the pool and some room details but this is more of an owners or investment issue as management and staff are clearly doing their best. This didn’t ruin our enjoyment though. There’s no elevator, but there are only 3 floors and this might be an issue only for ppl with health problems.
The staff and management are doing an amazing job. Very hard working and friendly people. We felt at home and got tons of recommendations everyday and they were all on point. The room is ver clean and spacious with a great ocean view perfect for enjoying the sunrise. The property is right on the beach and surrounded by trees and the sound of birds. The food is good and also the drinks. Location: not too far from the airport.

RomaniaThe owner and the staff are very friendly, ready to help you and provide you with very useful information. Everyone made the stay very pleasant. The quite varied breakfast started with delicious local fruits. An absolutely delicious passion fruit sauce is served with the fish. The rooms are quite big, comfortable and we were delighted to see from the balcony both the ocean and the mountain behind the hotel.

RomaniaWe would really liked to have some insects nets at the windows and doors. Other than this we have nothing to complain about.
We liked the whole experience at Crown Beach. The location of the hotel is central to the island in a quiet area. The sea-view rooms were spacious with a mini-fridge, comfy beds, spacious balcony with chairs and you could actually see the sea from the bed and from the shower. The WiFi had a good speed and covered all the premises, including some areas of the beach. The breakfast was delicious and fulfulling. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made the whole experience complete.

IsraelThe breakfast is very modest, choice of egg, 2 bacon slices, a couple pieces of fruit, option of beans, oatmel. I wouldn't decide not to stay based on it, but if you're a big breakfast person there are other options around. Also the place's kitchen is nice, but there are nicer restaurants around and cool bars in resorts. The pool when we were in early-mid Oct was not clean and didn't seem appealing to use. Also it's very small. Perhaps it's more well maintained during high season. If you're looking ofr a pool go to a resort either for a day use or your entire stay. Seychelle has amazing beaches which I recommend to focus on during your trip.
The room was very nice, we first were at a "mountain view" and then upgraded to "sea view" with no additional cost. The hotel has practically a private beach which is very nice, intimate, quiet, has chairs and kayaks etc for outdoor activities. The hotel is in the middle of the island, which was comfortable to go scouting the island in all directions. It's a small boutique place with a family atmosphere, welcoming feeling, staff with patience to help whatever needed and accommodate your tourist needs - like recommend trips around the islands, scuba diving, snorkling, etc. Overall the amazing staff, the location, beach, room made it a great stay and we highly recommend.

LuxembourgNothing to complain about... this hotel and its staff gives you real value for money and absolutely a holiday time to remember... highly recommendable this place if you like a small scale hotel with a personal touch and attention.!
The location, the room and the staff of this hotel are just outstanding, we cannot praise the staff enough for their excellent service attitude so to make us feel truly " at home " while away from home.. For us this hotel was a real gem and we have enjoyed every minute and all of the days that we've stayed out there during our holidays.

CyprusMy girlfriend and I stayed in the Crown Beach Hotel in the middle of September 2023 and we really enjoyed it! First of all, the hotel personnel are very friendly, smiley and open-minded for any request (starting with providing information about the island attractions ending with rent car and excursion tours services). The room was always kept clean, we especially liked our amazing ocean view, it’s absolutely stunning! One of the main advantages of this hotel is its location: the hotel is based right on the beach, so only some 20 meters divide you from the ocean! When we were observing the island by the car we’ve noticed that the majority of hotels are located on the other side of the road which requires extra walk time (you realize this especially when a heavy tropical rain suddenly catches you :). The food in their restaurant was always fresh and tasty (the local fruits for a breakfast deserve a special complement). Many kudos to the hotel’s owner for being so friendly and attentive to guests. Thank you for servicing us with tasty coconuts, we appreciate it a lot! And of course thank you for making our holidays on Seychelles so unforgettable, lovely and special!

IsraelThe location of the hotel is not the best one, since the interesting part in Mahe is the north and the west if the island. A bit pricey for a hotel (not a resort).
The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitality is excellent. The hotel has a nice beach and lovely view. The room is very spacious.

IndiaWe saw a wild mouse in the dining area during dinner but it's to be expected in an open environment which is right next to the beach. Other than minor thing, I can't think of anything even remotely negative about the property 😊
Photos doesn't do justice on how pretty the crown beach hotel is. The location along the beach is picturesque. The staff is a small family of very helpful people. Jon at the reception desk helped us with everything possible from car rental to places to visit and foods to try. Tapas handling the restaurant was extremely courteous and understanding. As my wife is a vegetarian and we knew the limited food options that would be available in Seychelles, Tapas went out of his way to make something for us outside the menu which was heart warming. Location is away from the main city center but also quiet and we enjoyed a brilliant sunrise from our room's balcony. There's a grocery store right next to the hotel, which is very helpful. Very enjoyable experience. Worth every penny.
