Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI thought the price at Euro 420 per night was expensive.
The hotel is in a lovely location, the rooms are spacious and the staff are kind and friendly. I was particularly impressed with chef. The dinners were excellent!

FranceSeychelles is too expensive for the quality of the stay, food is not so great but expensive, hotels are not always as good as expected (for the price again).
The staff was very nice and convenient (they did arrange taxi transfers very well). The island is great but this is incredibly expensive for what it is...

Slovakia- service for breakfast and dinners was slow (we were the only one at the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get an omelette and egg benedict, which was annoying as we had scheduled boat trip with tight departure) - poor and unstable wifi connection
- big and comfortable room, very peaceful and relaxing hotel (10 rooms only) - honeymoon gift (bottle of champagne and fruit platter) - free transfer from/to the jetty, as well as to the beach (we stayed at Dhevatara during monsoon season, therefore there was a lot of seaweeds on the hotel beach)

United Statesthe beach. but you don’t really need to spend time at the hotel beach as the ones you want to visit are up north. I would stay here again in a heartbeat
the staff made the stay so special. they were very accommodating, welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay special. the room was big and comfortable and with only 10 rooms, never chaotic. it was very relaxing

FranceIt might be a little bit expensive but still worth it.
We had an amazing stay at Dhevatara. The room was perfect, the pool is fantastic, you can access the beach very easily and while there are a few algae it's not really an issue. The staff is nice and welcoming, and it was a great experience to stay there. Also, you have a lot of small takeaway restaurants nearby that you can walk to, which is nice if you want to experience a little bit more of the local life of the island.

United Arab EmiratesRooms could do with some tlc. The bathroom ventilation isn’t good and was very warm. The glass panels are quite random and don’t fit the setting really. A good hotel but not great value for money.
Staff were wonderful and incredibly friendly throughout. A lovely sea view from the room and a decent breakfast.

United KingdomBedlinen changes more often would be a good idea. The garden was unkempt giving a home to biting flies, regular spraying would be helpful.

SwitzerlandThe usual challenge to privacy while sharing a single room is further enhanced by a mere sheet of blurred glass separating the 1.5m distance between bed pillow and toilet. This certainly can not pose serious challenge to well established couples but might become a pivotal point to newlyweds. Unfortunately the ventilation in the bathroom did not work and it took us some time to figure out how to open the windows hidden behind the wooden blinds. This resulted in a different dilemma since air conditioning should be ceased while the windows are open. As the venue is about 50m off shore a premium payed for a room with sea view may cause disappointment for those expecting a broad ocean horizon. It gives a peace of mind to have plenty of curtains ensuring privacy, although we could not figure out why they were not split at the balcony door, sending us on a 4m detour fighting our way through the waves starting from around the edges, looking for the way out. Finding our room clean and our bed made upon returning was a pleasant experience and this was really not at all diminished by a few mishaps during the week, namely a cleaning cloth and spray bottle found in the bathroom or the “test sand” - that we accidentally spilled behind the half meter pathway behind the sofa - being untouched throughout the week. We had an overall wonderful experience and any observations above are merely meant as a helpful feedback to the staff and information to adjust expectations for any future guests.
Although maintenance seems to have lost some battles against decay in this small hotel, the venue still offers most of it’s charm that contributed winning multiple prestigious awards just a few years ago. The staff is most helpful and courteous, making the stay pleasant and worry free: they recommended and organised trips, arranged a rental car, helped with airport checkin and patiently answered our many questions. The five course dinner included in half board is highly recommended for those who enjoy an extended, nearly 2 hours long culinary experience where they are left with plenty of time between courses to discuss their holiday adventures of the day or the exquisite delights of the superb dishes served. Many guests from other hotels are also visiting the hotel restaurant to enjoy the à la carte dinners prepared at the hotel's renowned chef supervised kitchen. The breakfasts are plenty, fresh made and fully customizable.
