Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandWhen I arrived i was welcomed with the news that Booking.com overbooked the hotel and that they would have to accomodate me in another hotel for one night. Since I explicitly booked this place to not have to change I didnt agree. In the argument that followed I insisted on the room I booked and paid for. During this argument the owner stated that i got the room cheap and only paid a low price (680€ to me is not cheap!). They offered me a small spare room for the first night and I had to share the bath room. I got a 25€ discount. After the first night I got to move to the room that was more than double the size of the first and nice with TV and bathroom. In conversations with the owner they told me that they had situations like this in the past and that I was the first to complain. But situations like this are exactly what you dont want on vacation when you want to relax.
Close to the harbour, spacious room with TV and fridge, nice balkony. The bathroom is not directly connected to the room. You have to go into the corridor first and from there you get to the bathroom. The corridor should not be used by other guests. Please note that there is a disco directly behind the accommodation. On Friday and Saturday you must therefore sleep with Oropax.

BulgariaIt can be noisy over the weekend, but it wasn’t an issue for us - we have good sleep Some people may find it inappropriate to have the toilet/bathroom separated from the bedroom by a curtain only. But it was fine for us.
We had awesome time on La digue. If I need to sum it up: The location was perfect for us - 2min walk from the ferry, in the centre of the village. Beautiful garden - it was pleasure having dinner on the terrace. Huge kitchen - everything needed. Bikes were arranged and the quality was very good. Both hosts are really friendly and shared a lot of helpful and interesting details about the island.

PolandDon't rent your bikes here. The only thing we did not like was that Jude did not properly prepare bikes for us and during our stay one of the bikes was taken from us (at night maybe) without notice and it was given to our neighbors (we compared bikes on our photos, it was the same). My MOTHER's bike was replaced with a bike with a flat tire. After we asked him why he replaced it he said it had to be serviced. We did not ask for a service though, the bike was fine. If it indeed needed a service it means it was not prepared for us properly before (I even gave a notice that we will be interested in bikes). This incident was a let down for us. House itself was very good but it's not a place to rent a bike. Do not rent a bike here, there are other good bike rentals around for a good price!
The location is perfect, it's close to the Jetty. There is a beautiful garden outside! Our house was big clean. Rooms were cleaned every day. Rooms could have a bit more light. The WiFi was ok (sometimes not working but mostly good). Bathroom is shared, but we were alone in the house so it was ok. The host (Jude) was nice apart from bike incident.

Russiaeverything was good during our stay, so I can't say any bad comments
It was a great pleasure to meet Mr.Jude (property manager) right after we got off from the ferry. Very kind support and assistance. He also provided us bikes for rent. We would've stay for more nights, but it was a short notice booking for one night because of the issue with another hotel (it was eliminated from the list of approved business from Tourism Department) so we had to move to another place. An still, Jude visited us almost every day to make sure that bikes are working well, and replaced them when bike needed a technical check. The garden near the house is very beautiful with high tree, that give you shadows during the day. And at the night time this is the only house on the street with a streetlight, so you can definitely find it even late hours.

United StatesThe garden room meant a lack of privacy when I opened the curtains (and windows) to let in light (and air). The wifi was flakey but that was because it is a small, remote island (I had trouble on Praslin as well--even Mahe). Google maps indicates the street is the first and only right turn after turning left from the jetty--it's actually the 2nd right turn--and there is a sign.
Despite booking a room with a balcony, I got a nice ground floor room in the garden. The manager was super friendly and helpful. The room was large, had a/c, a big bathroom w/ hot water. The main house had a full kitchen where I bumped into other guests (mostly Russians). Beautiful garden. Very near the jetty and town so I walked to shops and to watch the sun set over the sea each evening. The manager fixed up a bicycle for me to ride--same price as street rentals $10/day. Everyone rides there--very enjoyable, especially going around the north end in the early evening. I just had the juice for breakfast.

Belarusthere is a shared bathroom, so if there is another guest at the same floor, you'd need to share the bathroom
nice place. in the room you have a balcony (shared with the adjacent room). at the ground floor there is a common area with the kitchen, so you can cook if you want. there is garden in the yard. the host provided us with the bikes to move around the island (at a fee). the place is close to the ferry, so you don't need to spend money for taxi to get from and to the ferry.

Czech RepublicThe lights are a bit weak. The AC in the upper room was not that effective at first, have to give it some time to cool the place down a little bit.
Jude is super nice person. Tells you about places to go to, rents you bike (check the shift, you might need it for little hills) Kitchen is big, terrace nice. I absolutely loved the balcony in the upper room. Wifi is perfect. Perfect location as well, 5 mins from the jetty terminal and bakery. Bathroom upstairs is big and nice (shared for 2 rooms though)

GermanyThe bad: We didn‘t sleep one night because of the loud music coming from the neighbouring Bar. What made the experience very bad for us were the bikes. We have spent 3 nights there and rented two bikes as well (big mistake!) as they were offered by the host. The womans bike had a bent handle bar, but was ok otherwise. At our first ride we have realized that the mens bike had no working rear break and the the saddle tried very hard to make sure that we'll never have any children. The next morning Jude changed the break calliper and the saddle and we went out again. In the afternoon the left pedal fell off in the middle of the ride and a resulting crash was only narrowly avoided, but a few bruises and scratches remain as souvenirs. The next morning Jude changed the damaged crank arm and we went out again, only to find that the pedal kept unscrewing again and we had to screw it back in after every few kilometers. In the afternoon, while going up a hill, the chain of the bike broke, so we had to push the bike back from the other side of the island. The next morning when we woke up shortly after 6 AM, the bikes were already taken back by the host. We were actually planning to see the sunset on one of the mornings, but because the bike was basically broken every night, this was not possible. The ugly: the bikes probably costed about 40% more than at other rentals. Additionally, when we asked to wash our clothes (washing machine is listed as available equipment(no additional fee), we were charged 200 SCR (13,5 €) for a single wash cycle!
The Good: The apartment is clean and well equipped. According to Jude (the owner) the hot water supply is limited, but we never ran out of it. There is an outdoor shower which makes it easy to keep the sand out of the house. At the end of the stay we were allowed to store our luggage for a few hours before leaving the island

SingaporeLocation location location! Nothing can beat this location given its right next to the jetty, esp helpful since its a bicycle only island (some motor transport for further away guesthouses maybe). You can easily walk to/from the jetty upon your arrival. The host Jude is very helpful, he was expecting me and waiting at the roadside to make sure he welcomed me and I dont get lost. The facilities in the room is great, everything you need with a full function kitchen. It is very clean. And I love the aircon because the island is hot and humid after all. Price isnt' cheap but this place is def cheaper than the average on this island, remarkable given its location - you don't expect hostel price in Seychelles anyway. Highly recommended.
