The property is wonderful. It has everything one needs for a comfortable stay, including all cooking utensils and pots, a washing machine, and a well-functioning AC. They also have good and reliable WiFi, which is not to be taken for granted on an island in the middle of the ocean. The property was sparkling clean and it was easy to get the keys from the host. There is also a wonderful garden with a beautiful view. Finally, the hosts were great, and I am looking forward to seeing them again when I return to Seychelles.

Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Gave us good recommendations on what to do in Mahe. Location of the accommodation was very good, the main beach was right next to it. The beautiful view comes with a price, a very, very steep hill. This isn't uncommon on Mahé but we walked up it once and I wouldn't have wanted to do it again! We had a hire car, there is parking but driving anywhere on the island requires confidence with hills and windy roads. Wifi was very slow.

Clean and modern. Beautiful view. Owners live below so are around for anything you might need. They very kindly did a load of washing for us. Nice decor, gorgeous kitchen on the balcony, massive shower. Beau vallon beach nearby, nice pizza place at the bottom of the hill.

Nice apartment. We loved the open/outside kitchen concept. Furniture was new, bed was alright. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking, including salt, peper and some oil. AC worked perfectly. The location was great for us because it's close to the Bau Vallon stores and bars but we still had the quiet, secluded atmosphere at the ap. Sunset view from the balcony was amazing as were our hosts. We really felt welcomed and they gave us some good advice and recommendations about bars, restaurants, beaches etc. which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definetly stay there again.

Erverything was great!

Lovely accommodation in the hills. The apartment was clean and you could find everything you needed there. The sunsets were amazing. It was a short distance to the beach and there were several nice restaurants nearby. The hosts were helpful and we got help whenever we needed it.

We did not like that we had to leave.

The communication with our hosts was very good, even before arriving. They organized a car rental for us. We liked our apartment and even used the kitchen a few times. The view is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed take-aways on our terrace with the perfect sunset views on Mahe. It was also possible to rent the place until the evening for a small extra fee, so we could enjoy our last day on Mahe and take a shower before our departure late in the evening. The hosts were very kind and they even provided us with fresh delicious avocados from their garden.

Well, the amazing view has it’s price. You have to go up on a very steep hill. It is okay with car, but walking (hiking) up is not easy. Although Natalia gave me a good tip for that too: to walk up in zig-zags, and actually it worked allright. (I’ve seen locals to do the same too :) )

I liked everything about it. The view was amazing from the terrace. The property was clean and quiet, exactly as on the pictures. I could really relax and enjoy my stay. Natalia, Harvey and Rose were amazing hosts and helped me a lot, for example with tips what to see, where to eat etc. and we also had nice chats. 💕 I can only recommend staying with them.

The apartment hosts Harvey and Natalya are a charming couple who was very helpful in my settling down at the apartment. I did not rent a car because I am not used to driving on the left. They drove me to a supermarket a couple of times to purchase items.

The breakfast was not included in the plan. The property is located on a steep hill. Climbing this hill from the beach can be somewhat challenging. Ideal option is to rent a car.

Harvey and Natalia are very lovely hosts with an excellent knowledge of the island. They welcomed us very warmly and were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The accommodation is modernly furnished according to the photos and extremely clean. The highlight of the apartment is the open kitchen with the beautiful terrace and the great view of the sea. They are not joking when it says that the way to Rose's Self Catering is steep. It's a 7-10 minute walk up the mountain and there's a bit which is the kind of steep you only find on side-streets in the Seychelles. We didn't mind it too much though. On the days we didn't have a car, we hitchhiked up twice, the other days we walked. But it's definitely something to keep in mind before booking, if you have difficulties to climb a hill. It's perfectly possible to drive up, but if you live in a flat country, you might find it daunting at first. This place is self-catering in the style which you might be more familiar with in Europe. You don't get cleaning service (and the tools to do it yourself are limited) or new sheets or towels during your stay (except if you stay for a longer period, when they change them once). This is quite unlike self-catering places we stayed at on Praslin or La Digue. You can have extra sheets for a fee (as mentioned in the Booking.com details), which however is quite steep (500 SCR). They eventually gave us some sheets for free although we stayed less than 10 days.

Being up the hill, which might be one of the drawbacks of this place, also gets you the primary highlight, which is a truly spectacular view, which you even get to enjoy while cooking in the outdoor kitchen. The place itself is tasteful and has everything we needed. It's also in a very beautiful garden. The beach down the road is Beau Vallon Beach, which is the most "urban" beach we've seen in the Seychelles, in the sense that it is more busy with locals, especially on the weekend, locals exercising in the evening and young people listening music etc. We found this a refreshing change from the previous islands we visited. The beach is great for swimming and offers a variety of activities. You have good access to the bus network. You don't need a car for visiting Victoria or to go to Anse Major, which was one of our favorites in Mahe. Nevertheless, getting a car for a couple of days to visit the places further away is probably recommended. The place is managed by Harvey and Natalya. Harvey's mom Rose, who is a very nice lady and for whom the place is named, also lives in the building. We got to chat with her a couple of times and she has lived a truly fascinating life. Harvey and Natalya are happy to help with organising tours or renting a car. Natalya did a free washing for us on the day we arrived, which was very welcome. The accomodation organised us pick up from the Jetty for a reasonable fee (the owners picked us up in person) and they include a little bonus stop on the way at a super market so you can buy some groceries to start your stay. This is very convenient, especially to buy water (since the way up to Rose's Self Catering is steep, as mentioned in their description).

Very clean and well located appartment in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts are very friendly and courteously. Only the moment of paying was a little bit confusing for us as we elaborated a diffrent exchange rate than the hosts. In the end, we paid more (converted in SCR) as the booking.com reicept reveals in EUR. Therefore, we recommend to pay in EUR if possible. Apart from this we can really recommend this appartement!

With an unmatched view to Beau Vallon beach and only a few minutes far from the waves, the property is perfect both as a starting point for exploration, as well as an amazing place in which to return after a day at the beach. Relaxing on the balcony with its amazing view is an experience in itself. Combine that with the fantastic, fully equipped, outdoor kitchen, it makes for both a lofty and very local experience! Every space was spotlessly clean and Natalia and Harvey are each more helpful and informative than the other and we had a hard time convincing ourselves to leave and stay on schedule rather than just spend the whole day on the property talking with them and Mrs Rose, who's just the sweetest. It would take a novel to list all the little things and details that demonstrate the care and thoughtfulness behind running this place. Of all the beautiful places visited and wonderful people met during our trip to the Seychelles, this one takes the cake and the one place that we will miss above every other... until we return!
