How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room met my expectations and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the gym was also modern and spacious. The breakfast had a wide variety of cold and warm food and fruits. Overall I was very happy with my stay at City Hotel Ljubljana!

Dusty walls. It has so much dusts that it was difficult for me to breath and sleep. One of the ladies in the bar, the taller one, is not very pleasant in dealing with guests. It is good that I have so much patience that day.
Location is between the city center and the bus station. Breakfast is good, repetitive but good. Bed is comfortable and room is bigger than usual. There is fridge and kettle in the room

Ten mins walk from the main bus station, amazing breakfast spread and staff. Room size I chose was ideal for solo traveling with small luggage, anything more it would have felt cramped. If the price fits your budget then have no hesitation to pick this hotel. It is close to a flight simulator place with a proper airplane cockpit as well if you want to experience it.

Our first room, #403 had a smell of urine in the bathroom. We reported it and the room was cleaned, but the smell lingered. In addition, the shower door wouldn't close completely and there was no way to not flood the bathroom when showering. The staff was quick to move us to a new room, which was newer, nicer and smelled much better. The new room was on the second floor (Floor 1) and seemed to have been recently renovated. It was very comfortable.
The hotel is a great location and is a nice, large hotel with many amenities. We had an issue with our first room, but they quickly moved us to a new room, which was much better. We appreciated the customer service. Breakfast was good with a good variety of food.

Very central location and 5 minutes to bus and train stations. Room was comfortable and clean Very varied buffet breakfast that caters for all tastes. Very helpful staff at reception.

Coffee machines all out of action at breakfast, check In staff were so lovely and helpful but breakfast staff were a bit grumpy!

I consider that the acoustic insulation from the room I've stayed in (5th floor) was pretty bad. You could hear people's conversation on the upper floor. Fortunately, people respected the quiet hours, but still, this is something that should be addressed considering how much you're paying.
The location of the hotel, breakfast, and the room were amazing. The quality of the linen bed, and the mattress was beyond my expectations. Honestly, I was not expecting such a good breakfast. Truly awesome. I had a problem with my door-locking device and the staff fixed immediately. Shout out to Robert for ordering a sandwich for me at the checkout, because I had to leave before the breakfast hour. Amazing staff indeed.

Breakfast was generally very good but there seemed to be a lot of problems with coffee machines and timings when opening in that not everything was ready two out of three days.
Location is great for city center, easy to get to and the rooms are small but well appointed.

Parking price a bit overrated.
