How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Excellent hosts. Very comfortable beds. Very good wiFi connection. Great loation to easily get to the main tourist attractions in the area, namely the Caves and Castle. We were able to park right at the accommodation which was useful as it rained most of the 2 days we were there.

The room size was adequate, but smaller than we anticipated.
The hosts were friendly. The room was adequate size. Home-made teas and jellies were delicious. We appreciated free parking at the place. Very convenient to restaurants. It was easy to drive to the caves.

The room and the bathroom were very clean, new and nicely decorated. We arrived later in the evening our hosts were very welcoming and kind. The room was warm, heating was already on before we got there which we appreciated. Great wifi connection and free parking spot. I look forward to coming back to Mira’s apartments on my next visit to Slovenia. Also location is perfect very easy to find, it is close to many supermarkets and attractions in the area.

Clean, nice, comfortable, and excellent value for money. Above all of these are fantastic hosts, Mrs Mira and Mr. Boris. Thanks for hospitality. We will come back again.

Room is a bit small.
The owners go to a lot of trouble to care for you. They are nice people. The accomodation is easy walking distance to the town and about 15 minutes to the cave. It saves on expensive parking costs.

Nothing - but be aware that the owner wants payment in cash - this wasn’t at all clear to me from the booking paperwork - fortunately we had enough cash to cover this.
Great location for the town centre, good breakfast, air conditioned and comfortable. Parking on site.

Excellent location and facilities. We had the apartment in the back of the house, it had everything we needed for cooking and plenty of space. We were a group of 3 couples, two who stayed in double rooms in the main house. The apartment and outdoor patio was perfect for us to meet for happy hour before heading out for dinner. As for location, restaurants in town and shuttles to the cave and to the castle were less than a 10 minute walk.

Great place to stay! Very close to the Postojna Cave, you could even walk there. The hosts (Mira and Boris) are very friendly and responsive - they gave valuable pointers about having a meal. We only stayed one night but felt like we were here longer.

The property was perfect, spacious and clean. Our host was very friendly and helpful and even drove us down to the Postjana caves in the morning and allowed us to leave our luggage with him after we had checked out to allow us to enjoy the day not saddled with lugging our cases around.

Modern, clean, quiet location and very friendly owners. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags before the check in time. Lovely breakfast with home made preserves and home grown produce. Easy walk to town centre, Postojna Caves and close to the bus station and 20 min walk to the train station.

Ideally located for the famous caves and castle, the host Boris was lovely and the breakfast (paid extra) was delicious and mainly homemade from local ingredients. Powerful and modern air conditioning was great and necessary given the hot weather.
